So basically life is like a torture chamber in the Saw movies and God is like Jigsaw. He already judged you from your birth that you're a POS but then throws you a set of instructions for you to redeem yourself. The instructions seem to be unclear and unaligned with your reality yet you're expected to follow them. Then if you die, you're being judged based on your ability to follow those instructions and your will for redemption. If you don't you suffer for eternity but if you do, you get the chance to live among other survivors of this game called life, who may or may not be your love ones or people you actually care about.

so based on what you just said

God decided you should be born, and you were. Before you knew you had a context or any knowledge whatsoever. Thats how God knows all of us, before we know he knew.

Genesis 15:4

4 And, behold, the word of the Lord came unto him, saying, This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir.

Interesting debate. :jbhmm:

I wonder what the Coli thinks about the concept. :lolbron:

A question like that makes me assume you've got seduced by dawah

It's metaphorical — you don't have to go in raw, but you still do...you take extra cookie, you skip out on some bills, etc.

It's more because of Paul, isn't it? Without him the Jesus followers more likely would've faded away over time
Ethiopian Christians existed without Paul so?

The message of Jesus is simple enough it never depended on Paul

Paul’s role (as a Jew) was more of a historical one to bridge the divide between Jewish culture and the non Jewish/pagan culture of the time and smooth the transition.

That Was a separate rate mission in its own right

Same way “Muhammad” I guess took the role of bringing Abrahamic religion to the lost “Arabs”. Arab rulers made it into a NEW Arab supremacy based faith who ruled by FORCE…..otherwise his followers would’ve faded away over time.

That’s the difference between early Christians and Muslim. And Paul and Muslim leaders who helped spread each religions

Paul didn’t FORCE anyone and he died a martyr and didn’t seek money or power.

The Christian movement would’ve faded over time if the gospel message wasn’t so powerful.

If there was no PAUL, it would’ve been someone else…. And another….. and another as We see throughout history

Wasn't it Paul who started the resurrection aspect, though, when he said he saw Jesus on the road to Damascus? In turn basically deifying Jesus. That changed the face of the Jewish preachings of Jesus into the Christianity we got now.

John 20:26-28:

Eight days later, his disciples were inside again, and Thomas was with them. Although the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you.” 27 Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here, and see my hands; and put out your hand, and place it in my side. Do not disbelieve, but believe.” 28 Thomas answered him, “My Lord and my God!”

^ Paul didn’t write this.

Not sure why your focus is on Paul and not Jesus if you’re interested in Christianity. Unless you’re a Hebrew Israelite:yeshrug:

We are prisoners of war, from the war in heaven and the "sin" placed upon us at birth is really just "time", the Grim Reaper.

Yall not ready for that tho.

We are here and we have each other. We can either work together to make this reality better, or we can squabble with each other to make it worse. Being human, we are apt to do both, because competitiveness and socializing are intrinsic parts of our nature as human beings.

So are we born in Sin? My answer is I don't know. Some of you can answer in the affirmative and others in the negative, but the truth of the matter is none of us know for certain. As an Agnostic, I am inclined to think I am just honest with myself and others on this issue.
My take on all this is that humanity's biggest fears stem from the unknown. What's the biggest unknown that humans haven't been able to solve? What happens after you die. It scares people it is the inescapable inevitability of life. People are afraid. Many will say they follow religion because they love God, because they feel compelled to righteousness, etc. But when people start being truly honest they really admit to being fearful of their actions in this life having consequences in death. Fear drives many a faith. An existential Fear. When humans feel fear strongly a coping mechanism we have used time and time again is to explain away the fear with some sort of explanation. That's why there's so many religions, myths, folklore today. We lack the tools to scientifically confirm what happens after death so we lean into what explanations exist for comfort. Religion provides these answers
