I’ve watched wrestling for over 30 years and wrestling has never been as accepted mainstream wise then it has been now.

The coverage during the Attitude era seemed to be very condescending and dismissive of the product at the time.

yeah the thought of there being a WWE tab on ESPN.com would've been unthinkable in the 2000s

Until something can transcend outside of the wrestling bubble broadly into pop culture and bring in people who aren't your typical wrestling viewer, there will be no boom period.

Any increase in viewership right now is likely just largely lapsed wrestling fans or people who were watching WWE and decided to start watching AEW, New Japan, etc. and vice versa.

If you like wrestling it's a great time to live in. Outside of the Bloodline stuff, there really isn't anything going on that can potentially transcend outside of the wrestling bubble. And for as long as this Bloodline stuff has been going, it still hasn't transcended broadly into pop culture, so at this point I don't really see it doing that.

And you need multiple things going on that can transcend outside that wrestling bubble to get that boom period going. Like back in the Monday Night Wars you had high-level stories with nWo, Stone Cold, DX, Rock, etc.

What's the second best thing going now story-wise or at least was going on? Bray's dumbass shyt that never pays off? Dom cosplaying a wrestling version of Prison Mike? Scissor Me Daddy Ass? Everything a very significant dropoff from the Bloodline that no one outside of wrestling is going to give a shyt about.

The only thing that any non-fan has ever brought up to me about wrestling was asking about Logan Paul and Bad Bunny so if they want new eyes they're gonna have to keep recruiting mainstream celebrities to compete
And then the question is are these non-wrestling fans watching anything else on the show or are they just watching the celebrity segments/matches?

Yeah sure.. but these are numbers we haven't seen business wise in years.
Based on what? Attendance? Possibly, but not ratings. They do decent ratings around this time then fall flat by Mid-April.

That's why I said wait until after Mania season because in '98 that's when shyt took off afterwards.

Breh there was a time when wrestling was legit having NFL/NBA numbers.

Nowadays WWE and em know that shyt is a losing battle :mjlol:
