Are sports team allegiances in your city/area racially, culturally, geographically or generationally divided ?

I am comfortable and I love you
People here are Lakers fans unless you wanna be on some contrarian/cool kid shyt and be Clipper fan. Only Clipper "fans" I knew growing up were just Laker haters. That's changed a little bit since they stopped being such a joke but they'll always be lil bro status.

Angels and Ducks are the closer teams to me but all their fans give me :mjpls: vibes. Not big into baseball, but I've had way more fun at Dodger games than Angel games through the years, I chalk it up to the crowd.

I would add there are parts of Maryland like Anne Arundel and Howard County where the older folks are Skins/Commanders fans and the younger are Ravens fans

What's definition older? Why was they not colts fans if they old?

Rangers - very Fort Worth centric. I think most of their season tix owners come from Fort Worth rather than Dallas.
Stars - attract a lot of transplants who recently moved to Dallas, a lot of young cacs who live in the city.
Mavericks - very diverse fanbase. a lot of love from Indians/Asians in the suburbs.
Cowboys - big hispanic and black following, typically the people who actually grew up in Dallas. it's rare for me to run into a hardcore cac fan, they've abandoned the Cowboys.

Bay Area has a lot of demographics.

Football is the most diverse. Going by what I see. I think Hispanic, Samoan, Asian, Black and white folks are 49er fans and Raider fans are mostly Black and Hispanic. Warriors fans are mostly Black, Asian and White folks. A’s fans were mostly Hispanic(recently) also popular with the white folk outside the Bay Area(Sacramento etc…). Giants fans are White/Latino and some older black folks.

My grandpa was a Giants fan because of Willie Mays. I think a lot of older black folks in the Bay are more Giants fans because of Willie and Barry.

A’s were a more diverse fan base until recently when black folks in the area kind of stopped fukking with baseball.

When I went to A’s games recently it was mostly Hispanic folks.

I feel like in NYC, Mets fans are mostly white.
It used to be different and I think it's starting to change back.

The Yankees use to be the nice cracca squad, with all the great tradition and the symbol of pure American baseball.
The Mets was for the real NYers.
U can tell by the colors of the team.

The blue with orange or red is the real NY team colors.

Nope, but I think this is more of a "state with multiple teams in the same league" type of question, tho, so :hubie:

i think there was a great migration of white people from pittsburgh in the 70s, so now if you see a working class white millennial anywhere in america, there is a chance he was raised to be a steeler fan. amazingly, there are at least a dozen sports bars and restaurants catering to steelers fans in arizona and the clientele is white working class.

we have a similar situation with dodgers and cowboys fans out here but the demo with them can be more diverse in race and class. almost every mexican who isnt a cardinals fan is a cowboys fan by default.
