I think that you guys are twisting up Puerto Ricans with some of the other Hispanic groups. They are not the same. I have never known a Black Puerto Rican that did not acknowledge that they were Black. Hell some of them are not even completely Black, but those moafuggas can be Blacker than most Black people or have you forgotten Rosie Perez because she is Puerto Rican.
There are lots of Black Puerto Ricans. People like Irene Cara, Carlos Delgado, Roberto Clemente, Carmelo Anthony, etc., are Puerto Rican. Actually they are African Americans, because they are American citizens, but Puerto Ricans cover a lot of different hues and shades.

@Akan Carmelo Anthony's mother is AA and his father died at age 2. He looks like a normal AA of normal admixture who could fit in anywhere in North America from Halifax to Dallas.
The man lived in MAJORITY BLACK Baltimore from age 8 to adulthood...ain't no migos 'round there like that.
I dont want to be white.
Puerto Ricans WANNABE white (like many other Latinos). But obviously they ain't.
Melo has Puerto Rican tatted on him and still has family members on his pops side he associates with. He’s a slave descendant on both sides of the family on his fathers side his last traced ancestor was a slave woman in Venezuela who fled to Puerto Rico. His father was a Young Lord with a huge Afro in his days.@Akan Carmelo Anthony's mother is AA and his father died at age 2. Puerto Rico SELF IDENTIFIES as 75% white...that's what they want to be there.
we're well aware of the MARGINALIZED black PR presence...I get it. His father was Puerto Rican though, so even though he wasn't probably raised around Ricans he is technically Rican just like we would be AAs even if we were not technically raised around AAs.
My whole point in this thread is that there are Black Puerto Ricans. I have never known one to think that they were White.
Edit: The boxer Felix Trinidad is another Black Puerto Rican:
