I think that you guys are twisting up Puerto Ricans with some of the other Hispanic groups. They are not the same. I have never known a Black Puerto Rican that did not acknowledge that they were Black. Hell some of them are not even completely Black, but those moafuggas can be Blacker than most Black people or have you forgotten Rosie Perez because she is Puerto Rican.

I don't want to get too involved in too many of these hispanic discussions for reasons I mentioned before, but Hispanic is not a race.

My concern is for black puerto ricans. Puerto Rico is majority white, not just in skintone, but quiet often in mentality, which is why white supremacy and white privilege exists there.

Arabs and Hispanics are at the bottom of the white pyramid, that doesn't make them not able to tap into white supremacy and white privilege in most situations.

I never said black puerto ricans don't think they black, on the contrary, black hispanics are constantly reminded they are black.

Not all white people are evil and racist. I'm sure you can meet several white Hispanics who identify as white but reject white supremacy and are rebels against the sociopolitical rules of racial inequality.

There are lots of Black Puerto Ricans. People like Irene Cara, Carlos Delgado, Roberto Clemente, Carmelo Anthony, etc., are Puerto Rican. Actually they are African Americans, because they are American citizens, but Puerto Ricans cover a lot of different hues and shades.

They're not African American. African Americans are descendents of slaves in the United States AADOS

@Akan Carmelo Anthony's mother is AA and his father died at age 2. He looks like a normal AA of normal admixture who could fit in anywhere in North America from Halifax to Dallas.
The man lived in MAJORITY BLACK Baltimore from age 8 to adulthood...ain't no migos 'round there like that.

I get it. His father was Puerto Rican though, so even though he wasn't probably raised around Ricans he is technically Rican just like we would be AAs even if we were not technically raised around AAs.

My whole point in this thread is that there are Black Puerto Ricans. I have never known one to think that they were White.

Edit: The boxer Felix Trinidad is another Black Puerto Rican:

I dont want to be white.

Puerto Ricans WANNABE white (like many other Latinos). But obviously they ain't.

No...they aint plus white and black is a construct slave captors used in the 17 & 1800s. When they did not know which tribes any people of color were from.

Matter of fact Puerto Rico...means Rich Port...Spaniards stole their gold and silver and named them.

It's funny how everybody confused but slowly waking up...I had to school a white dude (offline)on "race" 2 weeks ago.

He came at me on some Blacks sold yall into slavery..I said Nope...he said yes they did and showed me where some Africans did in fact did it...I said correct..he said see blacks did sell slaves...I said Nope...he said you're confusing me.....I said ok..Nigerians, Kenyans, Ethiopian,Sudanese, and Eritrean are what...he said Black...I said nope they are Nigerian, Kenyans etc. Plus were never slaves plus they have a nationality...I asked him what would be my nationality pre slavery..he said African...I said Nope...we're the chosen people...

He was :ohhh::feedme:

Melo has Puerto Rican tatted on him and still has family members on his pops side he associates with. He’s a slave descendant on both sides of the family on his fathers side his last traced ancestor was a slave woman in Venezuela who fled to Puerto Rico. His father was a Young Lord with a huge Afro in his days.

Puerto Rico SELF IDENTIFIES as 75% white...that's what they want to be there.

That's my thing why should it matter how they're perceived outside of their island, screaming "white Americans will never accept you" won't stop racial inequality there, Trump can disappear tomorrow and the white Puerto Ricans will still have the advantage over the Black ones.
