Black gay/bisexual/lesbian youth are more likely to commit suicide than White lgb youth for this same reason.

I think a conversation really needs to be had about homosexuality and why it’s so stigmatized in the Black community. It’s 2017 almost 2018. This really shouldn’t be a big deal at all.

Yeah it's tough, even on here it's stigmatized, just like early in thread I made joke then had to back pedal off of inferences.

But the truth is as a community it's still not accepted or tolerated. I'm not perfect either, even though I've made gains in improving my behavior towards them, I'm still not without biased and ingrained stereotypes. It's sort of how I think a lot of liberal view racism. Some don't want to be prejudice and biased, but they grew up and have been institutionalized that way, so they can't help be resort to certain behaviors and reactions...

The reality is I have a lot more in common with gay black males than I do with many straight black males, because they happen to be more educated, financially well off, work in professional settings, still deal with racism etc. Does this mean I want to fukk them no.

But I have no problem befriending peeps that are gay. People need to open up their eyes and stop being so close minded.
