Every nation if they want a more legit chance will import African players, period. You're supposed to pick the best of your country, not the best of your race.

Who I thought was more surprising was their coach.

Dude got a nice coaching pedigree and got them playing high-level soccer.

:jbhmm: Really?

Do remember this squad? Arguably the greatest national side of all time.

Prove me wrong or gtfoh you digital African

A - You: Original Arabs are black!

B - Me: This isn’t true.

C - You: Wahhh! Prove it?

This is the current state of the exchange. Since you have no evidence, you have resorted to doubling down on showing your ignorance and nyash to the world.

:francis:

I’m waiting on you to provide evidence for (A).

Do you understand how logic works?

Borno has long been a West African terminus on the way to Hajj and had been a sizeable state for 1000 years before colonization.

Here’s an article about correspondence between the Sultan of Sokoto and the Shehu of Borno:

Intellectual factor in African diplomatic history: Sokoto and Borno sultanates, 1786-1817

I know bits of Bornu/Kanuri history & their kingdom.

Just not in-depth history like I do with other west African groups cos they’re somewhat unique & far away.

Sokoto & Borno sultanates are much more recent. That’s post Uthman Dan Fodio Fulani Jihad. I want something before that.

Borno was founded in the 1380s. Fulani Jihads across West Africa happened 400-500 years later.

Brehs need to travel. There are brehs or breh adjacent everywhere.

Brehs will get a heart attack of they went to Indonesia or the Philippines.

The thread has nothing to do with travelling. It’s about Sudanese claiming some black people as their own & arguing against it if you know the etymology of the names of the people being claimed.

I can look at names like Musiala & Muokoko and say both are of West/Central African origin. If you disagree, it’s on you to provide counter-argument.

At least, on the thread, we can now deduce that 4 Qataris actually have Sudanese origin. And with the Saudis, a couple of them have Nigerian origin based on their names.

That was one team without any Black players (Italy in 2006 too I think, but could be mistaken)?

Dang near every other World Cup-winning team has had a key Black player of some sort. Not to mention all the ones who were on the top 4 teams practically every single year.

Bottom line, we can post pictures of all the World Cup-winning teams with and without Black players and the ratio would be lopsided. Everyone knows that.

That team/era was great to watch though Tiki-taka :wow:

If it ain't true, shouldn't it be easy for you to just debunk what I said or do you expect me to take your words for granted?

Some of the blacks don't even consider themselves black. I know some dominican black dude who refuses to call himself black.....of course it's a different country from Ecuador but some black hispanics refuse to identify as black

What if I told you that Arabs can be black too
and that the the Arab slave trade was bigger than the Atlantic
and that many Africans settled in Saudi after making hajj

There are also native black Saudis that trace their lineage back to the OG Arabs.

The Arabian peninsula used to look way different back in the day. Just as North Africa looked different.
