You should be able to translate on IG. Anyway it looks like a meme basicislly. No evidence of their players having any recent Sudanese background. Straight Saudi for the most part. Either way it’s not surprising, Africans migrate everywhere.
Yes, it’s just humour still - nothing deep.
When I was watching the game it didn’t even cross my mind cos I know Saudi, Oman & Bahrain (didn’t know much about Qatar) have always had black players.
Just saw it on Twitter & I thought it’s funny but might be true. No shame in it. 90% of the French team is of direct African descent. About 60% of the Portuguese team is of direct African descent. Germany also picked a lot of players of direct African descent. England picked only Saka (the rest are of Caribbean descent). Even Australia has 4 players of Sudanese descent.
People just get too tight/insecure on this forum.
The Qataris had a couple of Sudanese. But the Saudis are all Saudi
I think it's just that people think there's overrepresentation of some of these black players some of them barely qualify to be dual nationals.
Calm.
But what about the claims in the comments that some of Saudis are Nigerians? Do you know how to spot the names?
You can tell some of their roots through their last names. For example centerbacks names is Al-Timbakti = Timbuktu, Mali in Arabic
Midfielder named Mohamed Kanno = Kano in Northern Nigeria.
Yh..your last name/family is basically an identifier of where you're from ethnically/originally/location/tribe etc. In the past they had players named Al-Hausawi which is obviously a Saudi of Hausa origin.
^^^^^ Today Saudis had a couple of these players
Original tweet is misleading there aren’t any Sudanese guys on the Saudi team, the majority of the black players are more likely to have roots in West Africa.Thanks.
I can easily spot a lot of West African names except Hausas.
Even with Fulanis - I know some of their names like Djallo & Keita.

All of the Saudi team was born there, they don’t naturalize for sports like Qatar does because they have a big population base to draw from.
You can tell the African origins of some black Saudis through their family names. In addition to the players I posted about, some popular last names for Saudis are Al-Hawsawi (Hausa) Fallata (Fulani). The guys with names like that are often from families that are descendants of pilgrims to Mecca that settled in Saudi, much before modern transportation.
Qatar on other hand has a much smaller population base, so has often naturalized children of expats who went there for work. There’s about six guys with Sudanese parents on their team, most were born in Qatar or lived there since an early age.
