Who cares about lists from these mainstream publications.

The only lists that matters is your own personal lists.

Boys II Men's "II" album and Carl Thomas "Emotional" are 2 of my favorite albums of all time and they're nowhere on this list nor was I looking for them.

I scrolled the list and kept it moving without a second thought about it.

MBDTF and TPAB are the ONLY hip hop albums of the past 20 years that really transcend hip hop, and you can have the argument they're both top 10 all time....it's crazy having mbdtf at only 26 :gucci:

Seems like its 1 album/artist, which makes for a weird list.

Yeah this feels like a participation trophy list. If they’re talking quality they only have one entry from guys like Stevie, Prince, etc. on it. If they’re talking sales plus impact it still looks weird when they only have one Mike entry.

They also look funny in the light when you restrict some of these entries to their genres. In no world do some of these artists have all time great albums in the pantheon of their genres (Drake)

Okay so far it looks like one album per artist. If not the number one is either gonna be Thriller, Abbey Road or What's Going on.

TPAB is going the highest rated rap album. Dot will edge out Lauren I feel. Might even make top 10

The list is fine. It's a compilation of the top musically acclaimed albums of their given genre. Yes, it's a bit predictable but I'm looking forward to visiting/re-visiting some of these.

Insignificant posting from an insignificant poster
I used to respect lists before they mystery of these media sites wore off.

No offense but we shouldn't still be letting white folks tell us what is great and what's not anymore in 2024.

Yeah but theyre not really telling “us” whats coveted and highly regarded essential albums.

They really just fabricating for each other (fellow music columnists and publishers/streaming companies) and the people that support them.

Im none of the above and i dont think many (if any) of coli users consider themselves white hipster industry folk.

But i cant respect any cac list if CC’s Colour By Numbers and Celine’s Unison albums arent in there.

Other non rap/rnb stuff i would place in there…

Shiiit, i got MJ’s Dangerous, Body Guard OST, Alan Parson Project EITS, Disclosure Settle, George Mike’s Older, Petshops Please, Marvins I Want You, Def Leps Hysteria, Smash Pumps Melon Collie, Nelly Furs Loose, Madonna’s Erotica,

Btw, i have Tony Braxton’s Secrets higher than confessions.

Way more polished, better sequencing, production and song writing.

No way it's one album per artist. I've never seen a top 100 list where Stevie, Prince, Radiohead and the Beatles don't chart at least two.

I wouldn't be surprised if GKMC and TPAB are both in the top 20.
