No one is arguing the impact of it. But illmatic was Nas’s debut album. It left a mark on hip hop overtime no doubt. But that album is barely platinum.
Like I said, if this list was purely based on how great the album is then the order would be vastly different, although the top 10 looks fine to me.
bruh. this list isn't made to be defended. it's for clicks. because there is no way to defend a top 100 where miseducation of lauryn hill is ranked ahead of thriller, purple rain or abbey road.
it's debatable whether miseducation is even the greatest hip hop record in the year it was released!
blonde in the top 5? how you pick the wrong frank ocean album and put it in a top 10 that doesn't feature an album from marvin gaye? lol.

I saw Astroworld and decided not to even continue .
it shouldnt be on there but it is definitely a great album and a modern day classic

Travis Scott having an album in the top 100 over Common, Raekwon, Ghostface, Scarface, Mobb Deep or Lupe Fiasco is disgusting. Hell they could’ve thrown in a second Nas or Jay-Z album or To Pimp A Butterfly and it would’ve been a VAST improvement.
Astroworld had no business being on that list, Travis has never topped Rodeo that should have been the album they chose not fckin astrowrld

Blonde is more culturally significant than CO. It changed the landscape of pop music for male artist. Blonde is still #41 on the billboard 200, think about that shyt for a second. It’s the longest reigning independent album on the billboard #200. Ever. GKMC has been on the charts for 12 years straight, you can’t ignore these things

eh. Astroworld might not be more universally loved than Rodeo (i personally like it more than rodeo) but astroworld was more of a moment than rodeo. that album was everywhere. i think it deserves a spot on that list. but like @ 99/100
