This is clearly to stem any complaints about Surface Pro having 128GB and iPad only 64.

Funny how they announce this same day as we find out only like 80GB of the 128 on the Surface is free'd up for use after all the space Win8 takes up

breh.. whether the iPad has 16GB or 128GB makes no difference at all. They're not in direct competition. It still doesn't give me half the functionality that the Surface Pro will give me

you are right they aren't. they are in the eyes of the media and most of the public who just see 2 competing tablets though. everything thing has to be a competition and has to be compared nowadays

On Android, 128GB would be a waste because the technology advances too fast. On Apple's ecosystem, this is perfect for them.

Breh i only use dropbox for my iPad. I have 16gig iPad 2 and the only things that take up space on my iPad are all the downloaded apps and lecture recordings. Otherwise, I upload/download everything I need to/from the dropbox account. It's actually REALLY useful.

I know its useful but i dont really like how it works on an iOS device without iFile being on it as well. I only use my dropbox for pictures really & code I write. I know its a good thing to utilize I just dont really use it like that.

i honestly wouldnt be able to fill 128gb since i stream mostly everything and all my music is on google play

that is not even a viable option. google play only works half the time. I dont even bother with it anymore.

plus for the zillionth time - apple devices are built for creating content not just consuming it...they might not be actual full computers but they come closer than anybody else. even their phones

The surface pro has full windows 8 on it and all that "missing" storage is due to the backup within the system. You can easily remove that if you make an external backup. You are not going to create more content on an iPad than you could on a surface pro...again the advantage is a FULL DESKTOP OS. You can theoretically create windows, windows phone, android, and blackberry apps on the Surface Pro as long as the system requirements are in check...you cannot create ANY apps on the iPad...PERIOD.

I know you are an apple fanboy, but an $800 iPad? With gimped iOS on it? Maybe if it had a full installation of Mac OS X allowing for xCode and other critical apps for creating content I might agree with you, but as it stands? fukk NO

@ $800-$100 Surface Pro > iPad. I don't care if Apple somehow manages to throw a damn terabyte in there. Apple has you dudes thinking crazy. They get away with it on the phone because they have iNerds thinking that storage is some sort of premium that is extremely difficult to figure out.
