They have the technology to make terrabytes of storage on small devices...why won't they just give us what we want? 100+ mb of storage has been here since the og iPod, so I don't get why it took so long.

Its possible...its been possible. Companies just wanna milk memory as long as they possibly can so they can get away with shyt like that.
Breh...do u know how much flash memory costs? 16gb costs apple $10...that would be $640 for 1024GB... shyt that flash drive u linked costs over a grand...come on now
They are releasing it now to cover all options for those looking for a tablet. Like the Surface Pro which has the option for 128GBthese nikkas gettin real lazy since jobs passed away.....
why would they even release this now... we all know a new ipad is a few months away..
yeah...you really don't know how these companies work.its a money grab.. stop it... and aint noone give a fukk bout a surface
Goddamn $800
Why wouldn't I just buy a subscription to an online file storage service like Dropbox or something for maybe 1/8 of this price.
You were just saying it would require disc based memory, I just proved to you it was possible. Flash memory only cost that much only because its a commodity. There are only a handful of companies that manufacture it, the demand is so high and the supply is so low. Inflation. Apple has the resources to create their own flash based technology as they did for their processors and ram. The question was why aren't they putting more memory in their products? Because they don't have to! Its good business for them to buy it instead of manufacturing their own thus putting those 3rd party companies out of business but more importantly they will make more money upselling memory. Only reason that 1 tb stick can go for a g is because other companies are making too much money buying and selling at their convenience.
Flash memory is so cheap to manufacture, why give the customer the choice of more memory while we can continue to use it as a main selling point ? . Cmon son, I know how these companies work breh, it being "expensive" is a non issue because the plan is to inflate memory anyway. Last thing they need is companies selling memory for cheap, that would ruin their selling point and drop the value of their products.
