I actually do see a reason for it. My role specifically is most effective with strong interpersonal relationships as I have to influence and motivate across multiple departments without authority. The authentic interactions I’m able to have in the office with people made my job much easier pre covid

like I said, it’s one thing to be stupid and ask for 5 days/week, 2-3 days is a very fair ask
I just went into the office today. As much as productivity is still high, even I will admit interactions are important.

I am going to start back with one day a week, maybe getting up to two, back in the office.

Do you go to concerts, restaurants, and so on for 5 days a week, 40 hours EVERY week? :dahell:

Everyone around my way has caught COVID the last 10 days, trying to pretend that COVID is gone. One person in the IT department is now in the hospital, and he is fully vaccinated. They were forced to do WFH (again) due to safety reasons.

my people are weak. Ohh Remote work is hurting to other state economies, disgarding the fact that people who offering the services are trying to get a buck. At every end, the worker is getting exploited, and just saying Okay

the black cat is my crown...
Let’s be real about this: Folks just want to watch Netflix, take naps and drink wine while working.
i'm unfortunate, i don't have a wfh position (nor does anyone in my department)... we have to show up to the office every day.... with that said, they're watching netflix, taking naps, and drinking wine while working right now... well, i hope not the wine drinking part... i don't see the difference to be honest... i think companies just want to crack the whip and feel like they're making their employees work... i doubt there would be much difference in performance in my department if we worked from home or were in the office....

Yea. The company I work for wants people back in the office. They said we are not a remote company. But my manager isn't checking on us to see if we go into the office. I generally go in twice out of the month. Any more than that, and I'm out.

I do the same thing at home that I would do in the office which is nothing for 5-6 hours out of the day. The rest of the 2-3 hours is intense collaboration and consulting.
