He also reeled off his concerns about the strategy.

- could reduced progressive power in the House

- while it would create more coverage for M4A the press would not be favorable to the progressive version of events.

- if another dem did manage to get enough votes from this gambit to unseat her, they’d inevitably more conservative rather than less.

- it risks setting M4A progress back rather than forward. Aka The “we voted on this already and it barely got 100 votes” scenario.
Yeah agree. I watched most of the 'debate'.

Brie's idea that they could just not vote for Nancy repeatedly and eventually other dems after several rounds of voting would side with the squad is so laughable.

Also, the idea that the media would also suddenly start covering Medicare for all in a positive light is also laughable.

How are you going to do all of that if all you do is alienate people through name calling and throwing of childish tantrums?

If that is the progressive agenda, it can't be done within the democratic party. Third parties, strikes, social movements, mass protest which takes class solidarity, which people are trying to foster here.

I probably agree 98% with progressives, but given the way some of y 'all are acting, I don't even want to be labeled a progressive. That's how much a turn off the dum dum left has become.

I don't label myself a progressive as the term has been co-opted. I've seen people call Neera Tanden and Hillary Clinton 'progressives', if that's who's within the parameters of progressivism then what the fukk does it really mean? I'm cool on that.
It's not just enough to be right on policy. You have to convince atleast half of the population to vote for pols who push your policies. That is not going to get done through name calling, judging, shaming and virtue signaling. All it does is provide you with an emotional release.

You realize more than half the population doesn't vote at all, a good portion of them making a conscious choice not to? And the half that actually do vote, voted for Trump. Being that the case was made (and turned down) to the DNC for the progressive agenda, it's on the people to do what always has to be done when fundamental change comes about, raise hell, hopefully in a constructive way for the right things.

You are acting like fundamentalist believers. If you don't agree with us 100%, you are a heretic and you should burn you at the stake. Any one who doesn't see the world through lens is a heathen.

I'm acting like someone who draws a line on the humanitarian issues of our day the same way people drew a hard line on slavery. And as I showed you above, two of the most powerful people in current day politics (Pelosi, VP Harris) supported health care as a right publically til they didn't. Don't be surprised when the people stop trusting the institutions and the rhetoric, even from the sheepdogs they send out to keep everybody in line.

It’s characterizing Jimmy (as literally jimmy dore) as making excusing for a thinly veiled group of white supremacists that are literally calling for civil war. I don’t think he’s on the opposite side of a civil war from boogaloo boys when he defends them.
So we agree the analogy in that tweet makes no sense. lol

Wrong eventually Pelosi would give into some demands was the end goal not what's stated here.

As long as you’re admitting that the boogaloo boys are a a far right white supremacist organization, you can complain about inaccurate characterizations.
I didn't say that you did. Republicans are generally racists/white supremists but media is allowed to talk and platform them. The guy who was on Dore's program did not express any racism even if the group he is part of is generally racist/white supremist.
The lack of consistency in complaints is funny. Complain about white supremists with no power but not the ones that actually do have power.

Boogaloo movement - Wikipedia
The movement consists of pro-gun, anti-government groups.[1][10] The specific ideology of each group varies and views on topics such as race differ widely.[13][19][20] Some are white supremacist[4][7][17][21] or neo-Nazi[21] groups who believe that the impending unrest will be a race war.[4][7][21] There are also groups that condemn racism and white supremacy

They sound about as 'organized' as antifa.

Yeah, so it's weird to associate yourself with a group that is so wide ranging in viewpoints that it kinda makes the group pointless. But none of my concern I'm not looking for affiliationa like that.
But it seems Jimmy had him on his show for a worthwhile message. It's like what the guy said to the people complaining doesn't even matter. lol

:mjlol: Obviously you care about jimmy a lot. Look at this thread my guy, it’s you pivoting from “M4A is everything” to “that poor boogaloo boy is powerless so his calls for a civil war from the far right are fine” all because Jimmy said so.

The guy did not call for a civil war quite the opposite. But keep up the mischaracterization.
And I was not caring about your command toward me chief, it's unenforceable so save your breath.

The guy is a member of the boogaloo boys. The civil war wish is implicit to the group. The “Boogaloo” is literally slang for civil war. This is why the joke hit so clean in the first place :russ:

The confederate in the joke doesn’t say he wants a civil war and explicitly states that he’s not a racist. Jimmy takes his word for it, ignoring the whole “he’s a confederate” part. That’s what you’re doing here.

This is literally how being a useful idiot works. It’s how suit and tie racists coded their white supremacy and moved into politics. The Boogaloo Boys was a ***** joke that white supremacists and right wing militia types have jumped into and accelerated toward literal terrorism.

But the nice man on jimmy dore’s show didn’t say he supports a civil war. So ignore the last summer’s worth of extremist violence from the group or their sordid history and calls for violence. :mjlol:

The group consists of a lot of people with varying views but I understand how it helps your point to paint this guy in the worst light. I don't care about them or their goals but this guy got on Jimmy Dore and said things I can agree with. When people including the president talk about 'uniting the country' what does that mean? How do you go about it?
Fred Hampton of the Black Panthers, Marcus Garvey of the UNIA also tried to find common ground with groups who had racist ideologies. I guess they were useful idiots according to you to. :comeon:
