The idea that holding an unsuccessful vote dooms the policy going forward is bullshyt Ryan Grim.
I told you already in this thread once you burn up all your political capital on a bill that's going to fail it's over. Especially if it fails because of your own party.

You have to be a dumbass to believe M4A would survive with her own party, Republicans, healthcare industry and in turn media gloating over it's failure. Remember how after Hillary's heatlhcare plan died in 1993, everyone against it was voted out and now we all have universal health care? :stopitslime:

Some called pushing for M4A during a global pandemic “theatrics” or a “performative gesuture”...but somehow, pushing for the impeachment of a president that’s already stepping down a week from today isn’t...:unimpressed:

Can’t make this stuff up

I always said it was performative to try and out co-sponsors who would vote against it.

Did you watch the video? AOC had done a 180 on performative voting.

"Maybe we should start voting on things based on whether we think it's right or not?! And stop pretending this shyt is complicated!"

^Sorry I agree with AOC's most recent comments on tactics. And her cursing shows passion not violence.
All this fear of consequences standing up for an extremely popular policy is bullshyt to me. Sorry I just disagree. :yeshrug:

Not an apples to apples comparison, impeachment can actually lead to a conviction, there is rumors that even Mitch McConnell is on board with conviction.. this “performative” act actually has a chance in passing the senate. If Trump is convicted his influence over American politics is greatly diminished

Oh how many people died? Because you know like upward of 50K die a year due to a lack of health insurance, that's an avg. of 137/day. I guess it's not on TV and being reported on multiple stations every day so it's not as important. :beli:

Medicare for all won’t pass the senate so regardless it’s all for not

AOC changed her mind about performative voting, was just pointing that out.
And I'm saying yes stop trying to check the political winds and do what's right and that would mean bringing both M4A and impeachment up for a vote. Not one over the other.
