Do you know what grifter means?

Dore is an idiot and a clown, but nothing about what he's doing is a "grift."

The same for Krystal Ball and Briahna Joy Gray - they're left-leaning media pundits, not "grifters."

Alex Jones, who is perpetuating lunacy while also selling literal products to accompany his fringe-ideology - he's a grifter.

:jbhmm:. Well let's see:
grift
[ grift ]

noun
(sometimes used with a plural verb) a group of methods for obtaining money falsely through the use of swindles, frauds, dishonest gambling, etc.

Jimmy Dore claiming to be a 'working class' champion while buying a $2 million house in LA? You could make the argument.

Brie Brie Joy crying about being "unemployed in a 500 sq ft studio apartment" while she makes $30K a month on per (paid subscription only) podcast, then juelzing when called out on it? Absolute grifter.

Krystal Ball starting a PAC supposedly for progressive candidates while lining her own pockets to the tune of six figures? Literal definition of a grifter.

So, yes, all three of them are grifters.

But that's no reason to play it scared, I prefer politicians with conviction that actually put their nuts on the table and fight for what their constituents want. How about you?

I asked you how this is supposed to get us M4A and you over here talmbout nuts. :dame:

I don't give a flying fukk if they let their 'nuts' hang if they're not actually going to win. So you've just confirmed my entire point: this is nothing more than performative garbage that doesn't solve the problem for anybody.

Not doing this isn't getting us any closer to M4A either so why not fukkin' try something to change the current state of play?
'Oh we might lose?' That's just cowardly.
The entire Civil Rights movement was just performative garbage that didn't lead directly to a law being changed immediately to I guess. :snoop:

You're not changing the state of play if you're not going to win. And everybody knows you're not going to win, including the very people pushing for this nonsense.

Do you actually want M4A or do you just want to look cool while saying you want M4A?

Civil Rights Act didn't pass the first time it was up for a vote either but pushing it had impact so it did pass when reintroduced.
Why not both?

As soon as I hear the words "general strike" I know the person is fundamentally unserious and living in a fantasy La La land.
Remember in 2010 when Bernie choose to be a strong team player by not forcing a vote on a public option via budget reconciliation?

General strikes have some validity - I keep a close eye on the international unions, and quite a few people were trying to organize the infrastructure for large-scale strikes.

Medicare for all became the bill to die on because there’s no path to immediacy.

it’s a tool of nihilist trolls to indict the failures and frustrations with the USA without taking real paths forward.

mind you a lot of them don’t live in red states and thus they can’t ever really handle on the ground movements

the congress just passed weed and like no one cares.

It’s obvious why so many Dems are against the idea of putting up the vote, because the optics of voting against M4A in the middle of a pandemic isn’t pretty. Progressives being against it, I dunno how to feel about it. Establishment is playing dirty at every turn, why continue to bend simply submit to them?

But I don’t like the online progressive infighting and it’s mostly the typical annoying online white leftists who refuses to concede on literally any point ever. Always too eager to turn on someone for anything. Clowns

So fukking do it already. I just don’t wanna hear bytching when it goes how we’re predicting.

we aren’t against the vote because we don’t want it. Were against it because we don’t like to waste ammunition
