I noticed it in the scene too, but I was just thinking ":damn: dude can act"....:heh:

Me too :russ: Wasnt till I saw it a 2nd.time when I wondered if it was real.

As far as the scene with Kerry

A Note on Leonardo DiCaprio, Blood, and Django Unchained (and why Tumblr is gullible)

NO NO NO THAT WASN’T LEO’S BLOOD WHEN HE SMEARS IT ALL OVER KERRY WASHINGTON’S FACE THAT POST DOESN’T KNOW WHAT IT’S TALKING ABOUT.it’s only his real blood in the take where he slams his hand down and begins to bleed. the rest of the takes (including the ones with kerry) used fake blood. they didn’t just shoot that entire scene in one day or one take! he did the take and went and got stitches and they shot the rest with fake blood.MOVIES DON’T WORK THAT WAY.*tarantino may be crazy but i highly doubt he would let his actors rub real bodily fluids all over each other for the sake of cinema.*and this was confirmed at a Q+A i attended with kerry washington and sam.

The sad truth is that a film depicting the Holocaust the same way as slavery is depicted here would never fly in Hollywood (certainly not with backing from the Weinsteins), but I really dont think thats fair grounds for dismissing the film altogether. There is not one single director who could pull that off and work another day in the business. Its a blatant bias no doubt

I was surprised and embarrassed by people in the theatre laughing at times where it really was not intended to be funny, but hey, thats our society I guess. Overall, it worked as a revenge flick and I really think it did more good than harm

Honestly, who cares that Django didnt kill Candie? He killed damn near everyone else, and King doing it made his own death more emotional. He sacrificed his own life.
Um spielberg with his movie amestad?

When Leo cut his hand and the scene kept going I was like :ohhh: this is either great script writing (this type of thing never happens in movies) or this is some great improv from a great actor

The fact is it was weak that:

Candie was the main villain and the one that has put Django's wife through hell and Django didn't get to kill him. That was a wack plot point period, no spinning it. He was the main villain of the movie and the "Hero" didn't even kill him. That wasn't no sacrifice from Dr. King, that was his own arrogance that messed up the plan. I think that scene messed up the flow of the ending cause the movie felt like 2 endings after that happen.

:youngsabo: my mother-in-law and both my parents loved the movie. lol@ not giving something a pass because old people don't like it. doesn't matter if it was set 2 years before the civil war or 2 years after the civil war, they were still lynching, killing, and hanging black people well into the 1960s. rosewood and posse are both action movies, do they trivialize slavery?

"Rosewood" was a drama with action elements and it was based on a true story also it did not take place during Slavery but the early 1900's. "Posse" did not take place during Slavery and the point was to highlight that Blacks were in fact Cowboys in early 1900's. "Django" is a fantasy film not based in reality. Also there is a generational split when it comes to this movie.

I personally can't give it a pass cause again I don't believe Slavery is an action adventure. The only stories that fit that are The Haitian Revolution and or Harriett Tubman and the underground railroad. I could see that being an Action/Suspense films cause of the story but a Slave Revenge Fantasy, I don't know about it 100% that's just me. I personally feel it does water down the history cause like I said, Slavery wasn't an action adventure for Blacks, it was hell.

The biggest villain is Sam Jack The c00n, hes the main one keeping money in the massas pocket, and aint shyt changed from then and now, except the ones keeping money in the white mans pockets are (for example) the rappers glorifying crime and going to jail, and buying shyt we dont need:tj:
