That almost happened to me when I went to Salvador, I had long ass convos on the phone with family while I was down there about not coming back. I was gonna get a job as a personal trainer at a resort and just live there, sometimes I think I should have just done that.

Is salvador that nice? Cause from i've read (only place aside for Sao Paulo i want to visit) is that it's more run-down and hasn't benefited from the economic growth as much as the southern cities.

I love Salvador, one of my favorite places on the planet, depends on what you're looking for though. The night life isn't as popping as Rio, and it is more dangerous, but it's a beautiful city to me atleast. This dude does a better job of explaining than I ever could -

Round trip flight you can find for as low as $700 from where I'd be departing, yours would be cheaper since you're closer to Brazil.

I'm not sure how much rooms will be by then, especially when you factor in markup. I'd say you'd need around $3000-4000 though if you plan on staying for the entire olympics. Best bet would be to get 3-5 friends and rent a condo, you can find them for like $50-100 a day, so for 17 days 850-1700 on the condo.

700 a flight? Don't think i've ever seen a flight out of DC there for less than like 1400-1500? Am i doing something wrong?
