Anyway, would you guys recommend going to Salvador for a first timer or is Rio the place. My friend is from Salvador and she swears that its the best place in Brazil, but seems like you guys are saying Rio is a better bet. Keep in mind I strongly prefer ethnic woman.

Rio is more lively, Salvador is more laidback, if you want culture and lots of history, Salvador is the place to be. You'll find a lot of ethnic women in both cities though, Rio is much bigger though and has almost as many black/mixed women overall as the entire population of people in Salvador.

It depends on what you want, I'm a laidback dude, and Salvador is my mecca in terms of the pacing and the atmosphere. You can do both if you go with friends, it's a long ass drive but if you do shifts it's worth it for the experience as well.

Four Years huh? I can stack up by then. One of my best friends during H.S. was a foreign exchange student from Sao Paolo and he told me I was more than welcome to visit him. Yeah, his parents are rich. He's currently a teacher in Australia but I can still hit him up . Knowing someone who grew up in Brazil can help me guide my way while I'm down there.
