Trying to tell you this brotha doesn't fit the mold of what Hollywood wants to showcase of black men.
He's too Alpha male looking and that kind of appeal takes away from actors of the dominant society. That's a threat.
I remember telling a partner of mine around the time Iron Man came out that White should've been Rhodey because he resembles the comic character alot. Can you see him towering over Downey? They can't have that.

Exactly that is what it is about. The dude is talented but Hollywood is not about to make black action hero's unless they are ambiguous jokers like Vin diesel or the Rock or black dudes with huge following like Will or Denzel. That is it.

I don't see what the big deal is fact of the matter is, dude has overachieved. Black Dynamite and Tyler Perry have helped him keep from almost total irrelevance. While I think he is a good actor he does not have the X-Factor that, Dwayne Johnson, Vin Diesel, or Wesley Snipes had nor does he have the acting ability to man a AAA franchise. His Martial Arts is terrific and it's not like the dude is lacking for work, that's more than most Black actors.
