I think their best years have passed them. I see them making good games in the future but they aren’t the gold standard of western RPGs anymore.

Casey Hudson was responsible for mass effect trilogy and he’s making his own game now.

Its like every time these big directors leave the studios they go off and make a clone version of the game they’re known for which usually ends up being some mid and the studio they left ends up putting out trash or remakes because they lost the creative force to make new shyt

Anthem's gameplay was fye, don't care what anyone says. the only thing that game was missing was more content and for a live service game, lack of content is death
Anthem honestly would've been a hit if they didn't try to follow the live service trend. The core gameplay was solid, but it did have some performance issues and being a live service limited it

That creative director who died while making Anthem was the heart and soul of Anthem. It was nothing but downhill from there.

Studios fall off when key people leave. I think I'll make an entire thread on this topic.

Casey Hudson was the game director. If he didn't want that ending, its not happening.
He did the gameplay. He didn’t write the story. They had a writing team and Walters was in charge of that. The team voiced concerns and Walters went through with it anyway.

I loved DAI despite it's faults. Story was great, but you could tell the game was meant to be some kinda live service MP game. shyt was basically a barren MMO-lite but with a dope story/characters. I do not expect DA4/Dreadnaught to even be half as entertaining.

Man, DAI is personal classic for me. Agreed on it clearly having originally been more of a multiplayer geared game (the war table STILL annoys me). However, I think one of the many reasons that Dreadwolf has taken so long was that it originally was planned to be even MORE of a live service style game, and they eventually pivoted to more of a single player style game, and had to blow up a lot their work.
