its not easy, im still dealing wth the same thing you are.

but i know when i DO believe in myself, and stop doubting everything around me, i feel a change. it's all about discipline.

Real talk. But still it's easier said than done. I guess I gotta just work harder.

It's horseshyt. Because if he believed he wouldn't be depressed to begin with. Seeing is believing. You can't make good things happen to you, they either do or they don't, just as you can not control the bad things that crush your faith.

thing is, its not about what happens to you. its about how you react to it. some people literally dont have the esteem to be able to push themselves past certain issues. and who are i, or who are you, to judge how they do that? you dont know anyones issue, so you cant tell anyone how to solve it. But i know self esteem in YOURSELF, self confidence, and most importantly, self DISCIPLINE, does change a persons self view of themsleves

Apathy and laziness are parts of the condition dude.

yes, i know. and the response to that is what i said. diving into a certain belief or faith doesn't hurt; but everything is curable.

search for a spirituality, appreciate yourself, realize that you're suffering from low self-esteem, that's all it is.

I believe this. I really do. But it's just seems damn near impossible for me to actually do it and do it consistently.

Problem is your thinking here might be - in my opinion is - a part of your condition. The determination to 'go it alone' and improve by yourself, whilst not actually dong anything of the sort, is an extension of your apathy and laziness...both of which are features of depression. By being 'strong' you may just be deceiving yourself as part of your condition, holding yourself back and creating an excuse not to seek real help. :manny:

And I think depression is only an actual medical condition if your depressed when you have no reason to be. If your life sucks and your not where you wanna be of course you gonna be depressed.

I'm black/white and I don't really consider myself either to be honest. But best believe I'm checking off black when it comes to school or job applications to get that affirmative action :jawalrus:

Either way I'm :win: though. I got the best of both worlds. Good hair, tanned skin, and tall. And I don't really look black enough to get discriminated against/profiled. Most people think I'm Hispanic.

Why you so depressed? I thought you was :win: cuz you don't look black enough to be discriminated against? Shouldn't you be happy? :mjpls:

Just want to know if anyone has ever been extremely depressed. Like no matter what they do no matter how much they laugh or enjoy themselves, theyre still sad and somber. Have you ever thought of killing yourself? What did you do to deal with these problems? I'm talking non drug solutions.

whats going on son?

It takes an exceptional amount of effort and discipline to deal with depression through some form of 'self-empowerment' - the fast majority of people need help. You seem to be suggesting OP can solve this problem by himself? Most can't.

Do you not seek therapy to deal with your OCD? My best friend has OCD and struggles to deal with because she doesn't have the money for professional help.

DOUBT... DOUBT that anything can help, or that anything is right, is the issue.

The sinisterly is what is keeping you under. no belief in anything.

Yeah I can see that. But I still would rather go it alone (at least for now). Like I said I truly do believe that discipline, esteem, and determination is the answer. But actually living up to those principles is easier said than done.

I know you said no drugs but worst come to worst smoke a blunt, kid.

There's gotta be something in life to bring you joy. Think back to your happiest moments from the past. Change is hard to deal with but it's the only thing constant in life. Sometimes thinking back to a time that was "perfect" can stir up some positive feelings.

Play some music that you listened to during those happy times. Maybe there's some fragrance like a cologne or incense that you burned. Scent has a strong tie to memory.

Just try to change those thoughts. You have a roof over your head. That's something to be happy about. Now just add onto that list...

Good luck, breh. You'll be okay.

:wow: Thank you, Jesus.

Ok dude. :manny: Go your own route and go all out, but if things don't change then you know you need to get professional help.
