They had a Blockbuster and Hollywood Video up the block on El Cajon Blvd..they were both near each other. Blockbuster was a little closer but me and my friends didn't give a fukk. We had GT Performers 5 speeds and shyt:laugh: We were riding on those things like they were rimmed up Chargers:laugh:

We were a$$holes..I had GamePRO, EGM...I didn't give a fukk. I used to know the EXACT release date of those damn games and would be up there EARLY as fukk to make sure I didn't get jobbed out:laugh:

"Devil May Cry"? :heh:

I dunno what year these other guys are talking about but I'm talking about the early-mid 90s. 2000 onward was a slow fall off for Blockbuster. You were in there when the decade of :flabbynsick: started.

Ahhh man...I spent lifetimes in blockbuster, I used to walk from my house, like a mile or so, grab some McDonalds, and candy plus movie by myself...

Or grabbing movies with your friends, and staying up late as fukk, with the old VHS tapes, I'm talking like 1996-97 before DVD, even. Or going with your'e friends family, and no one can decide, my friend down the street his family was like my own, every week they'd rent the latest releases and we'd watch them, all together. When they didn't have the newest movies, and all fukking thirty were gone....The red ones...I could write 10 pages on blockbuster and childhood..

I remember when I was older, I got so high, I wandered in Blockbuster for like 20 minutes, before deciding I couldn't find anything, and just left...or arguing with your friends about what to get, who had that friend who would always want to rent a movie based on the cover artwork, I saw some garbage based on that technique, 'The Base' http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0185908/...:snoop: lol classic memories...

lol, my friends family did that too, had the double vcr, and we recorded all sorts of terrible movies, we would never watch again...LOL at dubs of 'Cobra' & 'Nighthawks', or hundreds of other awful movies we rented, or someone else did. We need a thread on the bootleg cable too, we had one of those black boxes, that got PPV for free 24/7, after 10pm it would cut to XXX, I saw solo many R rated movies on that when I was 11-12, 'Scream', 'Fear', 'Seven', all sorts of shyt...

Prior to Blockbuster I'd go to grocery stores like Price Chopper, or the equivalent kinda like this. Early/late 80s.

What's crazy is all the wild ass covers movies would have back then. I was around 9, no supervision, just browsing the VHS section looking at shyt like this:

shyt was :whoa: and :shaq: at the same time. Granted, kids can look at a lot worse shyt on the internet nowadays....but it's in their own home. Nobody gave a fukk what you were doing in the 80s.

i rented final fantasy 7 so many times lmao. i was too young to really be able to beat the damn thing but i kept trying. My mom would say after a while why don't you just buy it. I think I may have done the same with Final Fantasy 8.

also another great moment was when Silent Hill first came out, I couldn't wait to rent that game. Turned out to be a waste though because I was too shook to play it. After like a half hour I couldn't take it anymore...lol
