Let's be honest, if you haven't outgrown so many aspects of it by the time you hit 20 then you never will. The bragging, the gang culture it's all cringey as fukk.
Hip-hop as a genre has so much to it that barely gets spoken about on here. It seems people just want to watch irrelevant has beens spout the same story over and over or people killing each other for childish reasons.
Expand what you listen to. I couldn't imagine listening to just rap. And when I do now it's older stuff or people who have something to rap about other than "i have this much money/guns/etc"
So much of the output is increasingly becoming music made for people who won't grow up by people who won't grow up. And then it feeds into impressionable young minds who think it's an OK lifestyle to lead and its just repeat repeat repeat.

Rap is devolving the same way the United States is, and the entire planet tbh. Politics aside, people are just getting shyttier and shyttier every year as morals and values die thanks to technology and terrible parenting

The constant drama, the negativity, the beef, the shooting, the killings. the fed cases.
Feels like this shyt has become a baston of negativity.
But maybe getting older is realizing that this is what hip hop ALWAYS WAS
From Biggie and Tupac to Jay and Nas to Fif and Ja Rule to Drake and Kendrick. and all the shootings beef jailtime, sleeping with baby mothers and court cases in between.
None of this shyt is new. This has always been happening. Maybe getting older is being able to be more cognizant of it. Also the fact that there has been a signicant drop in quality mainstream rap music makes it even more glaring.
The shenanigans is the show. at least back in the day we had some good tunes. Bet ya nikkas cant even name three Quando Rondo songs. But you can name three shootings tied to that nikka
it's like your parents, they stick with the shyt they grew up with and maybe a few new cats here and there.
I'm the same way at this point. stick with cats I grew up with and a few newer cats and that's it.
