I gamble but its not a problem. Sometimes i win sometimes i lose. i have up months and down months. Comes with the territory. I just love the rush :yeshrug:

I wish i could gamble online here in NY.

I win and i lose. Just whatever i bet if its done its done. I have rules that keep me straight because i see how it can be verryyyyyyy addicting and people lose everything.

That one more time thing doesnt work either. Just come to the conclusion that you like gambling and moderate it. It really is a game and thats how you have to think of it. Dont go crazy trying to change your life. Enjoy and have fun with it and it wont turn into anything crazy.

For one, I'd stop playing cards. Not that makes any difference, but take a little break for a while. I've taken breaks before, too, only to go right back at it. You need to take this L and let is sink in and after a little while you'll get over this. Trust me.

If you do decide to hop back on the wagon, just play for fun. When you feel that empty feeling after a loss, let be over $20 on the Monday night game rather than $500 after the guy across from you has A K to beat your A Q

I done took breaks and I know I will get over it. I think im done till I go to vegas next month for my bday. and I had pocket aces and dude had K J and called my all in for 600 last night

Combination of skill and luck. There's a reason you see the same guys consistently playing final tables and making deep tourney runs, but there's another reason you see those same guys lose huge chunks of their bankrolls or go busto
i play so trust me i know.....

ive gotten my share of bad beats and given out a few too but those types of hands are not the common ones.......

the majority of hands are won by playing intelligently.

Gamblers optimistic as new era dawns in

In anticipation for the Tuesday launch of internet gambling in New Jersey, many
gamblers are optimistic about the future of this new venture that is expected to help
ailing Atlantic city casinos get back on their feet.
Atlantic city casinos have been hit hard ever since gambling became legal in many
jurisdictions throughout the United States.
Before the late 1970s, the only place in the US where one could gamble was Las
Vegas.
Then came Atlantic city.
People were standing shoulder to shoulder in the east coast's first casino 'Resorts'
when it opened in 1978.
In the early 2000s, lawmakers in Pennsylvania felt that putting casinos in racetracks
would help cut their property taxes. The concept of 'racinos' were such a hit, that it
soon spread all over America. Now, a 'racino' in Queens, NY called Resorts World, is
the most profitable casino in the United States.
As gambling spread through-out the race tracks and cities, profits in Atlantic City
started to dwindle.
That's why Governor Christie proposed internet gambling, where the casinos in AC
will get to run them and profit from them.
And the site looks like it is off to a good start.
Despite some initial glitches as a test period started last week, many gamblers say
they managed to bet online, and others hope they, too, will get in on the action soon.
Chris Choy, of East Brunswick, easily registered with the World Series of Poker site
Thursday and won $99 by the end of the night.
Poker coach Michel Gagliardo, of Glen Gardner, played for hours on the same site
with few problems.
The casinos continue to test their sites and work on problems that shut out some
gamblers in New Jersey. Regulators say they expected those problems and say they'll
be worked out soon.
