i couldn't wrap my head around that story. ok i get it the farmers and middle class are kicked out of their homes, gentrification blah blah. we do the same thing but at least when new homes/business sector is built people move there. they built that solely for gdp growth
can someone explain that, cuz i feel like theres more to it. i mean the chinese govt can't honestly be that dumb? like the guy said its not even following supply/demand. at least turn those building into projects and let the lower class move in for cheap housing. do they really expect millions of the rich to flock to those cities before the bubble bursts? or is that what they want?

I remember watching a vice vid about some drug in Columbia where if it gets in your presence i.e. some old lady asks you to read a piece of paper with the drug on it and you become a zombie

Yeah, it was on an hour ago est. It was a really good segment after that he had Bill Gates on to talk about Polio eradication and what he's up to now. Rose seemed kind of off kilter during the episode like he wasn't very familiar with Vice. When Smiley came on I turned it off, he said it was his 2000th show.
You really are missing out.
