I've seen a lot of the YouTube episodes and all of the TV episodes and I agree that they are guilty of this but they seem to be getting slightly better since they have come to HBO.

The biggest thing that gives me pause is Seeing Bill Maher listed as an exec. producer after every episode. That guy is a fukking clown.

i avoided because i didnt like the douchebag hipster vibe of some of their other stuff, but it also makes sense that HBO is a good influence on them to bring their A game. i might have to check this stuff out.

I've been watching vice for a while and love their tv show. One complaint is I wish they did an hour long show. A lot of these topics are way too serious and indepth that I think they require a bit more time than 15 minutes per segment.

Also my other complaint about vice is that I understand they want to appeal to the "bro" demographic while addressing serious issues but I wish sometimes they would go a bit more indepth in their interviews. Though, I guess that is better suited for shows like Frontline.

This is what they do though. They make the shows quick and easy... but on serious and Crazy as fukk topics. They give you just enough for you to know what's going on.. but nothing more.

They make the episodes have that senior film student feel to them.

I disagree with you but your criticisms are valid.

I think (assuming on my part) that it's done for a reason. The twitter/vine/instagram generation needs the points to be brought across quick and simply.

By doing these short, informal exposes, it might push someone to find more in-depth sources on the matter.

Anybody thought it was a bit insulting to have subtitles on the screen during the Chicago segment? :heh:

Granted, a lot of them dudes did sound like Emmitt Smith with his mouth full of animal crackers, but subtitles??? :dead: You could hear what they were saying.

They had subtitles for the the Nigeria segment as well, including the field reporter so it was balanced.

The last episode with Chicago and Nigeria were perfect contrasts to one another. Great episode.
