The Ezekiel dudes questions are all valid. And it’s funny how y’all belittling his point of view on some “childish”. Y’all can’t be that naive.
They aren’t questions. He made an assertion: “being a stay at home mom isn’t hard”

He then says he doesn’t have children. That alone invalidates his opinion.

I'm giving it 2 years to find a job. I met her with a job and didn't agree to marry someone who doesn't work.
i get it ...men have the idea that we have to work and stay on top of adult life is ingrained in us but some women will get comfortable and just rely on you to do everything then play victim if you try to push her to find work

My wife is stay at home. To her credit she is taking care of our kids which saves daycare. And we started a small biz that she still runs, although it's not as much of our income as it used to be. And I live in Houston which is (was) pretty good for cost of living.

I think as my kids get older and are at school we'll have to adjust or I'll have to keep progressing in my career. I'm also down against couples who are both high earners, but thats on me.

When you say 100% of the bills, are you also basing that on the woman being a SAHM/unemployed or does she also work to pay for whatever she may need?

I've lived within my means and having a live in girlfriend (with a job) as a E6, outside of having to buy 3x the toilet paper there wasn't too much more to buy.

I make 140ish and shyt is tight. We don’t have car payments and no debt so that’s a plus. We put money away for the girls college fund, vacations twice a year, day care for the little one is $800 a month. Mortgage is under 2K.

Wife may start law school in ‘26. She has my GI bill so hopefully we won’t come out of pocket for it. Three years then hopefully we will be a dual income household.
:blessed:
My shed for our rental caught fire. We have to come out 4k out of pocket.

Happy New Year.
:beli:
Would I prefer making 75k and Wifey making 75K? fukk no. Working for people is for the birds. Wifey holds down the house and don’t have to deal with coworkers for 8 hours a day, Atlanta traffic everyday, and only getting 3 weeks a year off.
:hhh:

Your a good man for letting your wife use your GI Bill. I wouldn’t let muthafukking Beyonce use my damn GI Bill

I’m a Reservist so I get 4K a year for school. Plus I am a Texas Vet so the Hazelwood Act gets me 120 hour free within a Texas school. My education is set if I ever want to finish my degree.
:ehh:
I’m 20 years in my career so a degree is whipped cream. Still I think lack of a degree holds me back from management. If I took and completed 12 hours a year, I would be done already. No excuses especially when it’s free.

Things to consider

If you pay all the bills is she still working? If she works then her money goes into a joint savings/investment fund that will benefit both of you down the road

If she isnt working you must have a serious income that would cover that....I mean VERY SERIOUS....because that includes living, utilities, miscellaneous, medical, retirement savings etc....what is she doing?

Do you have kids? A single person income sustaining a family is becoming increasingly unwise these days
