Any man here pays 100% of the bills? What ballpark do you make?

No I don't have kids but once they're in school 7 hours a day, how hard are things? Once they are self sufficient teens, how hard are things? The school bus drops them off and picks them back up

I can see driving them to different venues being hard, but that's about it and that's after hours.
I dont have kids but you learn a lot spending time with those that do.

Parents always trying to slick get some alone time when they think you can watch them kids for a bit...
youll look up and realize the parent has been in the bathroom for like an hour..
or they'll be folding clothes in another room for a long ass time :mjlol:

Kids are really annoying...
even the parents get sick of them.

mfer may be in school most of the day but when they're home they take ALL your attention

......Can you explain how being a stay at home mom is hard unless the women are homeschooling?
-This depends on the kids & how you set things up.

-I have 4 kids & spent time as a stay at home dad & looking back, that shyt wasn't hard. My kids were disciplined & I had more than enough time in the day to get shyt done & still have time to relax. As they got older the kids went to school, church, had after school activities & a couple played sports. We kept everything close to home for convenience.

I always say do what works for you and your household.

She’s an attorney and I’m a school administrator and we also have several real estate investments between us. (not all free and clear income).

We split these bills, but when she was in law school, I carried more of the financial burden.

If I paid all the bills between her and our two kids, we’d be living much more modestly. I’ve offered to do that, but she wants to drive a certain type of vehicle and live in a certain type of home in a certain type of community, so that means she’s going to have to work and help shoulder some of this financial burden.

It works for us and gives her skin in the game too.

If I’m paying 100 percent of the bills, then I’m going to have 70-80 percent of the final say in all financial related decisions.

Depends on where you live. Ive only ever met one man like this in my life and he was a brotha from griffin Georgia , in the deep South way far outside of Atlanta metro.

He was a male nurse that basically lived at the hospital doing doubles and only brought home 70k. His wife just stayed at home having babies. Last I checked, dude had 6 kids in his 150k house a few miles from the griffin UGA agriculture campus.

I wouldn’t wish that mans life on my best enemy

I'd only be down with the idea of paying all the bills after ALL of the following conditions have been met:

  1. I earn over $100,000.
  2. We DO NOT live in America. You kats that have your wife being a stay at home mom back stateside are playing a dangerous ass game:mjlol:.
  3. She has the house looking spotless, dinner looking immaculate, etc.
  4. She's legitimately enjoyable to be around.
  5. She has some knowledge in handling finances. I'd prefer for my wife to have funds for the bills, and pay those, even if it's my money. It's one less thing I have to worry about, and it gives her something extra to do. Additionally, I'd prefer if she were savvy with investing.
  6. She likes to work out.

My childhood best friend is on something like this(mentioned him here before) with four kids and breh is TIRED.

He carries it because he loves his wife and children but dude is running ragged doing it at almost 6 figs.

His wife is sweet but idk, something in me questions how you can watch your so wear n tear n not do something different?

I know their youngest is still at daycare age n he says they save more by not paying for daycare but the stress of doing it alone gotta be insane.

The guy i mentioned also uses the daycare excuse as justification.

I almost beleive him. Given that his wife has no postsecondary education and is the poster child for "soft life" , her going to work would be the same as paying a babysitter to watch his miniclan. It safe to say, they are stuck where they are. Obviously they have not taken a family vacation out of georgia since they last had only 2 kids. But he says he is happy. But i agree with you guys, that it comes with its own toll. his undereye bags droop just a little further each year.

Also worth noting that on tax basis , he gets to keep the vast majority of that 70k. Deductions for each kid , plus the marraige filing status on his single income give him taxable income similar to a personmaking 35k. While he is a close friend, i am not close enough to look at at his books. but i'd venture to say that he keeps almost 60k of the 70k he makes.

From what ive seen, the last time i visited him out in Griffin, he has totally mastered the "economy of scale" aspect. Its almost like a factory. So his per child cost is exponenetially lower than a family with one child or two . Insurance companies probabaly hate his ass because they didnt expect the "standard family deductable" to include 8 people.:russ:

Everything is bought in bulk in the kitchen and cooked in gigantic pots. Clothing costs are negligible because he lucked out on only having duaghters. Basically only the oldest 2 get new stuff while, the rest get items through the hand-me-down assembly line. So he is stable. Id imagine his financial prospects will dramatically decline once those 6 kids enter middleschool / highschool and school activities wreak havoc on his finanaces. Those 6 girls can forget about college :sadcam:
