Any man here pays 100% of the bills? What ballpark do you make?

I make 140ish and shyt is tight. We don’t have car payments and no debt so that’s a plus. We put money away for the girls college fund, vacations twice a year, day care for the little one is $800 a month. Mortgage is under 2K.

Wife may start law school in ‘26. She has my GI bill so hopefully we won’t come out of pocket for it. Three years then hopefully we will be a dual income household.
:blessed:
My shed for our rental caught fire. We have to come out 4k out of pocket.
:francis:
Happy New Year.

Would I prefer making 75k and Wifey making 75K? fukk no. Working for people is for the birds. Wifey holds down the house and don’t have to deal with coworkers for 8 hours a day, Atlanta traffic everyday, and only getting 3 weeks a year off.
:hhh:

What happens if y'all divorce? Do you feel she's owed half the house despite you paying the mortgage, property tax, and maintenance? I'm sure you could get maid for cleaning, and a personal chef for cooking. Do you feel she's owed half your retirement funds?

The downside I'm seeing is $400k careers dont grow on trees. And we need fields like garbage men, no way they'll make $400k.

I just don't see any feasible way to pay all the bills unless the man is cream of crop.
Yeah of course she's entitled to half. She helped build and maintain it. No bitterness or resentment here. Being a stay at home mom is fukking hard. I respect her role

Wife n i both work she makes about a third more than me. Total household income is close to 500k on a good year.

All money into 1 account that pays all the bills and credit cards. I buy everything on credit. The rest i invest in stocks and real estate. Wife don't really want anything to do with the finances

If she helped you build it that's something different. This 50/50 argument makes it sound like a majority of women aren't helping building anything. They just want to stay home and do nothing.

Can you explain how being a stay at home mom is hard unless the women are homeschooling?

I see this subject all the time and looking at how expensive everything is, it don't really seen possible. Can you feed a family of 4 solely on an $80k income? Would the women be content not living luxurious?

It doesn't seen logical for a man to pay for everything unless he makes $200k/yr.

any african brehs on this forum? they might be your best bet

No I don't have kids but once they're in school 7 hours a day, how hard are things? Once they are self sufficient teens, how hard are things? The school bus drops them off and picks them back up

I can see driving them to different venues being hard, but that's about it and that's after hours.
