Any healthy, grown a$$ man who allows another man to mow his lawn needs to reevaluate himself

I used to cut my grass until someone said theyd cut it, edge it, pick up the leaves for 35 bucks

Why would i spend 3-4 hours on something that somebody will do for 35?

What type of "man" doesnt know the value of his time?

Pretty much what I was gonna say.

I know all kinds of shyt. Plumbing, drywall/framing, tape & float, tile, a little bit of electrical and a little bit mechanic shyt. I learned how to do all that when I couldn't afford to hire someone to do it. Now that I can afford it I look at everything like the bolded part. If it would take me 4 hours to do something myself or pay someone $40-$50 to it it's cheaper to pay someone because at this point I feel my time is worth more than $10-$12 dollars and hour. I would actually lose money doing it myself.

Because its $80 a month, cuts it once a week. So $20 a week....

Bruh thats less than I make an hour. So time benefits of me working 1 extra hour at my day job (work from home). As he pulls up cuts, I give him and his worker 2 gatorades. Is saving me money.

I do have a mower so if guests are coming thru I can get it looking crisp if needed.

Plus Im not in sun, wasting a few hours of my weekend. Or buying gas for the mower, edger etc.

====
Same reason wifey has a housecleaner, for the weekends she wants this house spotless. Like once a month we do a heavy clean day (harder than extra 3 weekends). Our house is usually immaculate.

Everywhere...You never there.
we don't really have subdivisions in the city, but most of my neighbors have lawn services, and they yards look good.

Low key having lawn servicemen come out is perceived as an indicator of lifestyle and the quality of the results (super green grass , no crab, weeds, etc) is an indicator of the lifestyle level (assumed that better looking grass means higher fees for the service ).

Shyt is crazy ... some neighborhoods, subdivisions really get into it with HOAs awarding yards of the month and keeping track of who.has the most wins .

I did pay a cat in the neighborhood $30 recently to shape up my bushes tho. I don't have a hedge clipper.

Not bad ... I was expecting worse on the lawn the way you described it but in terms of color and intensity of color , it doesn't look too bad . Especially to never have had any lawn care at all.

Yeah I do know about unreliable crew ... in landscaping and many labor intensive contract jobs ...

And I'm not at the crib pleighboi.

:sas2:

... nah my grass could be a lot greener and I have some crab in patches ... :manny:

I'm good with the lawn , yard maintenance but lawn care isn't my forte. ..

You should know.the difference between landscaping , lawn care and landscape & lawn maintenance if you really do this shyt.

They all are distinct areas with a tad bit of.overlap .

:usure:
Yes i know the difference since I actually did both.

And I also know about unreliable crew... Thars not a problem with me. I know people who quit because it's too hard. nikka quit once he saw a snake in the grass. Another nikka quit once he got stung in the face and his whole face swelled up. Only entreprenuers type cats and Mexicans really wanna go out here and do this shyt.

Everybody else is usually part timers. They also dont get paid as much or get to ride the riding mowers and do all the cool shyt.

I know this a troll thread but having someone else cut your grass is equivalent to having someone else change your breaks or change your oil. most you nikkas don't even do that

Subdivision shyt is serious...

I literally have a football field in my backyard where kids play football and soccer. And parts of it is hilly and there are no fences. I have no idea where my yard even begins or ends.

Most of us hire people to cut the shyt. All the other landscaping things are up to them and some houses are better looking than others.

True ... I think each man has to break it down ... for most, yard work is.the most accessible work with your hands you can do on your own shyt type of activity ... if you ain't doing nothing else with your hands , that's the least you can do ...

As @Kalik said , sometimes you weigh it out and.it makes.more.economic sense to go to work and toss 30 bux to someone.

I still says there is tremendous value in outdoor work that every man should.appreciate .

And we always make time for Shyt we really wanna do.

:sas2:

But yeah lawn and landscaping services ain't for everybody . Its really not a game ... but if.you can get you a nice lil dedicated crew and add to your skills to become more of comprehensive service, it's a good.hustle . Especially for those who love outdoors and have an entrepreneurial spirit ...and for dudes coming back home after a bid who can't get hired.

Only thing is alotta folk go into it with no sense of professionalism work ethic, research or marketing savvy.

I agree I feel you, I like doing shyt outside... just not the routine cut the grass.

Im gonna install some pavers and cut back some trees myself. I actually enjoy raking my yard (lots of trees). I burn one, put on my headphones and rake for an hour a week, fill up 6 cans of leaves for the biodegradable trash biweekly.

I love being outside, on my terms.
