Started Kindergarten in fall of 93 :flabbynsick:. Rope climb was there at least those first few years of elementary if not all the way through 5th. One rope had knots going up for people who needed help getting up, the other one had nothing. Saw many falls on to the mats, I never went more than a quarter of the way up :yeshrug:.

don't remember the rope test at all. in grade school recess was basically break time for teachers. they just put us outside or in the gym until bell rung. kick ball, bball, etc. field day was a big thing and a lot of fun with the whole school participating.
in hs you could opt out of gym/pe if you were on one of the sports teams.

What is really wild is. I went to the first school in America with metal detectors too.
When that shyt was setup it was wild.

You went to jail.
if you had a pager back then. So when they pulled that shyt. I remember they changed the entrance procedure. Snaked us around by barricades'n us in crowd control.
to the swimming pool hallway. When you turned the hallway corner. you could see rhat airport shyt. In the distance down the declined swimming pool hallway.
It was mad guns, crack, beepers and shyt against the opposite wall. That shyt was wild.

That week or so was like the Olympics at school :whew:
yep :dead: they had us out there like a jr nfl combine
best part was at the end of the day, the teachers would roll the tv/vcr in there and let us watch whatever was rated PG :banderas:

that mile run was nothing though as a kid. i don't even remember breathing hard back then. i try that shyt now and im headed to the ICU

I am comfortable and I love you
My gym teacher all 3 years of middle school was an older southern breh with a boot on his foot who swore up and down he got drafted by the Hawks back in the day but got injured.

He was GOATED cause outside of whatever mandatory shyt there was (Presidential fitness test, etc., running laps) he let us play half court ball everyday. My shot was money by the time I hit high school :blessed:

My elementary school must have been broke cuz we didn’t even have a sport atorium just a dusty track in the back and some oversized stacked monster truck tires we’d beat each others ass on like it was a fort or castle we protected.Super double axe handles off the top.

Later on they got all that stuff though and remodeled the school.I still stop by and walk through it sometimes.
