Please. AD Mitchell was called out for effort during the Jags game, and AR didn't play. That's been his main concerns: effort and drops. How are either of those on the quarterback?

AR and AD are actually similar in that both of them have insane measurables but play soft at times and haven't put it together yet.

He's my favorite pick from last year, mainly because I cannot stand that fraud Pittman Jr. But still crazy to act like he's that guy right now.

That poster clearly does not watch the games and only wants attention, lol.

People gonna keep letting these nerds lie to them about college QBs, using all types of analytics to ignore basic facts/stats. College QBs with limited starts/snaps in college have a high bust rate in the NFL. College QBs who are super inaccurate in college don't get much better in the NFL. Both of those should have told people that Richardson was gonna have problems. On one hand he has to start in order to get reps, on the other hand he's not ready. So you just get a lot of bad play, then the coaching staff gets desperate because you're not winning, then you bench him and he's not getting reps....and you've just ruined the small shot he had at being good.

they see Josh Allen and think they can make another one.

Josh is an outlier/exception.

Making Flacco the starter going forward means you're done with AR.

Winning games means you won't be picking high enough to draft one of the top QB's.

This doesn't help the team in the future. Better to just tell Shane to play AR sink or swim and he keeps his job. Draft your next QB and move AR. Colts have done a terrible job with the QB situation. They had a washed Rivers and Ryan already so why go to another ageing vet you have to replace?

1. No, he can just sit behind a better qb and learn. work on his cardio and other shyt.
2. Doesnt this mean they not trying to tank to replace AR, meaning they not done with AR?

AR probably lost the lockerroom :yeshrug:

Who tells Shane that though. The GM is allegedly on the hot seat too. If AR plays, they lose games and probably lose their jobs. Another reason why drafting a project QB makes no sense...if you're giving up after less than a full season of starts, what's the point?

Seriously what's the point of this? I get he fukked up. There are vets on the team who need to see him be punished. But you spent a top 5 draft pick on the guy a year ago....and you can't confirm he will start again? What are we doing.

This year’s draft is ass for QBs so I’m not really pressed. I think the team would’ve kept him out there, but didn’t want to lose the locker room over the tap-out and post-game presser. Can see Irsay being completely embarrassed by it and making another executive decision.

And if that’s true…like I said before, the Colts got way bigger fish to fry than the QB situation.

This team is bad, but they’re not top pick bad. It was miraculous for them to only win 4 games in 2022, just as it was miraculous for Ballard to still have a job afterwards. They’ll constantly toe that line of mediocrity until big changes are made.

Irsay has to tell Shane that. The GM can go and whoever comes in next will have to know Shane is good for at least next year.

You can't waste a top 5 draft pick. If I'm an owner there's no way I'm letting that go down. Shane's job was to get him ready so if the coach says he's not starting him I need a new coach.

This is why teams need to kick the can down the road at QB. Fill out your roster until the right guy is available to you in the draft. They could have traded down from pick 4, drafted Christian Gonzalez since they needed a corner, and used the draft capital to move up for a QB the next draft or taken a guy like Rattler in later rounds if they couldn't move up.

That "you have to take a QB" pre draft talk is nonsense if you're reaching. Steelers did that with Pickett. It doesn't help your team.

Yeah, if he never made that dumb ass statement maybe they could've kept him in. Best case is Flacco loses games and they can put AR back in.

I think Cam Ward and Shedeur are solid picks but they'll likely be out of reach. They're gonna end up with Ewers or Beck which is why you might as well play AR and see if he can be salvaged.

This is why the Colts should've a stayed away from old QB's. Flacco is fool's gold. You need to get a long term solution. They're lucky the Titans and Jags are struggling or they'd be looking at last place for the near future.
