3 years boss. 3 years. Every NBA player has about 3 years to be the darling and still looked at as a kid who can do no wrong …..until it flips and now they throwing ‘why you ain’t got no rings’ in your face

It’s something I first noticed with Dwight Howard. Dwight was the lovable goofball for a few years then all of a sudden shyt turned quick And you can go look back at any highly regarded top pick who didn’t win right away, Jordan, Shaq, Embiid, Blake griffin.

So Any you got like 1 more year and that goodwill gon dry out he won’t be ‘young’ anymore and all this shyt wont be seen as ‘cute’

Expectations changes everything

And all it takes is one time to fall short of expectations for people to flip on you

Lakers
They were great, but compared to the finesse of today's game, Isiah's game was simple (not ugly, just not at all creative) and The Microwave game was just ugly ASF to watch lol.

All bro shot was 2 hand pushers. Absolutely no finesse or creativity in his game AT ALL. Still a great scorer, just an ugly scorer.
I can’t lie it’s some Lakers from back then I could say the same thing about :russ: . MJ really took the league forward. Even Dr J didn’t have the whole repertoire

Michael Cooper 🤣. In today's game that's a Jarred Vanderbilt. Still an ugly game on offense but provides defense and athleticism.

I don't see how he can see any film of George Gervin or Bird or Zeke and not think they were skilled......maybe he's limiting his criticism to the 90s maybe, but even then that's nuts.

Edit: Hold on. This nikka plays in a league that don't call carries OR traveling 90% of the time trying to call cats who actually had to play by the actual dribbling and plant foot rules unskilled?? Someone needs to take the mic away from him. He just sound dumb.

Nah. Bird and Magic brought in the finesse and MJ revolutionized it. The game looks EXACTLY the same today as it did in the 90's as far as dribble moves, post moves, finesse slashing, ect.

Prior to Bird, Majoc, MJ, nikkas dribbled straight downward with no creativity, took 2 hand push shots right around the basket (Bernard Kings game was ugly ASF and id hate watching a nikka with a nasty looking game score 30 a game). There were no floaters, no crossovers, no spin dribbles or spin steps at the basket, no euro steps, barely any behind the back dribbles, ect.

Isiah was a straight down dribbler and he took 2 hand push shots at the basket (although he did have some nice layups at times). By 92, everyone had a much smoother looking game.

BECAUSE IT WAS LITERALLY ILLEGAL
TO DRIBBLE WITH YOUR HAND
ON THE SIDE OF THE BALL.

HAND ON TOP OF THE BALL
WAS THE ONLY WAY TO DRIBBLE.

THOSE PLAYERS PLAYED UNDER
THE RULES THAT WERE ALLOWED.

THE LEAGUE HAS CONTINUED TO LOOSEN UP
THE OFFENSIVE RULES OVER THE DECADES
AND HERE WE ARE

Yea I know, but body fakes were still possible without the side hand dribble, they would use a straight dribble left to right if they got bumped off their path, nowadays nikkas use body fakes and step backs and spin moves.

And even if true, the finishing at the basket was still ugly for the most part back then.

Thank you. Good lord some of these opinions are awful. Just either a lack of awareness or being young & dumb

ALL OF THIS shyt WAS ILLEGAL
BACK IN THE DAY.

IT WAS TOUGHER TO BE AN
OFFENSIVE SCORER BACK IN THE DAY.

IMAGINE HAVING TO CREATE SPACE
FOR A SHOT WHEN YOU COULD ONLY
DRIBBLE WITH YOUR HAND ON TOP
OF THE BALL?

Smart-Select-20220226-110415-Samsung-Internet.gif

THAT TAKES MORE SKILL
THAN BEING ALLOWED TO TRAVEL
AND CARRY THE BALL ALL OVER THE COURT.

GO TELL ANT TO PLAY A WHOLE GM
DRIBBLING WITH HIS HAND ON
TOP OF THE BALL AND LETS
SEE HOW MANY POINTS HE HAS.
