Because it's probably the only league where 1 player is a brand, they only focus on their brand, and can be completely disinterested in the actual sport. NBA Players have the least passion overall. They mostly do it to make money. There's nothing wrong with that, but if NBA players had half of the passion that NFL players had, it'd be a different game.

I don't really see it as shytting though. It's how they were brought up, so that's all they know, and only now has it been a problem. They criticize you until you prove yourself to them, and once you do...they love you. But the media and league did a great job at creating and cultivating that division.
This is an old white man narrative.

3 years boss. 3 years. Every NBA player has about 3 years to be the darling and still looked at as a kid who can do no wrong …..until it flips and now they throwing ‘why you ain’t got no rings’ in your face

It’s something I first noticed with Dwight Howard. Dwight was the lovable goofball for a few years then all of a sudden shyt turned quick And you can go look back at any highly regarded top pick who didn’t win right away, Jordan, Shaq, Embiid, Blake griffin.

So Any you got like 1 more year and that goodwill gon dry out he won’t be ‘young’ anymore and all this shyt wont be seen as ‘cute’

When you co-sign that only players and former players can legitimately speak on the league, remember dumb shyt like this is what you are supporting.

I said it before but this season really is make or break perception wise for Ant. He literally had face of the league on lock until that Dallas series. Since then from multiple alleged kids to Olympic comments & now this. His team is failing him

He had the older fan & younger fans all rooting for him. Breh just gotta be quiet lol

What were his olympic comments? I don't remember him saying anything during the olympics that was perceived as negative.

Detroit You bytch Ass nikka
Nah. Bird and Magic brought in the finesse and MJ revolutionized it. The game looks EXACTLY the same today as it did in the 90's as far as dribble moves, post moves, finesse slashing, ect.

Prior to Bird, Majoc, MJ, nikkas dribbled straight downward with no creativity, took 2 hand push shots right around the basket (Bernard Kings game was ugly ASF and id hate watching a nikka with a nasty looking game score 30 a game). There were no floaters, no crossovers, no spin dribbles or spin steps at the basket, no euro steps, barely any behind the back dribbles, ect.

Isiah was a straight down dribbler and he took 2 hand push shots at the basket (although he did have some nice layups at times). By 92, everyone had a much smoother looking game.

Personally I didn’t think it was a problem but responses here & other places say different. I felt he was joking. The public perception will flip in an instant on someone

His comment on being the main piece of Team USA.

I, for one, welcome our new space overlords.
The game is today the amalgamation of every skill, trick and technique that each pioneer or talented player brought.

It's like saying everyone in the 1600s was stupid except Isaac Newton. But technology and education today is a compilation of centuries of scientiest and researchers adding on a little bit of their work to get where we are.
