NBA is a star driven league. I would give up all those draft picks for an arguable top 5 player. it could get ugly for the Lakers once Bron retires but competing for titles now is worth it.
They'll be fine with 41mil in cap space if AD seems like a good teammate. He'll attract a max wing. By then it could be Booker, Taytum etc.

Bro the 2022 draft is the double draft where players will be able to go straight from high school and 1 and done players will be eligible. That draft is supposed to be amazing just off the fact so many potential players will be in it. Giving up that pick instead of Kuzma makes sense but it’s still a lot. And 7 years from now we don’t know who will be on the Lakers. What if that’s the start of a bad stretch. You always need protect picks top 3. The Lakers just moved up from 11 to 4 right. What if they end up giving a top 4 pick all because they didn’t protect the pick. It’s too much to much but I guess it had to be done.
How do you know the 2022 draft is gonna be amazing? You're talking about a bunch of current 15-16 year olds. :dahell:

Not only that, LA's pick is incredibly unlikely to be at the top of that draft. :dahell:

Kobe Stan/Bron haters. Lakers have 2 of the top 5 players in the league. The best two way 5 in the league who is 26, and easily the best wing and center combo since Kobe and Shaq and still gritting their teeth. Such a insufferable bunch.
Uh, I mostly see a bunch of non-Lakers fans hating on this trade for LA. :usure:

not sure why people havent learned after the Raps just won the title with a rental. I may be wrong but I dont think Kawhi is signing there. If he does it was an otherworldly trade. If he doesnt, it was still invaluable to bring a city its first title. Derozen was a proven All Star. while BI may end up being a better player, we just dont know. So giving up those young guys and picks is worth it if they win. they arent trading an established All Star..and even if they were...again...look at Toronto. it wouldve been nice to not have to give up all those pieces but the Lakers really had no choice.

The truth is, GSW losing all of their guys to catastrophic injuries and other guys hobbled due to mileage is another reason why the lakers HAD to do it now and I was one of the fans that was like NOPE we aint giving you all of that and we'll wait til next summer. let bron wait one more year. Truth is, everyone in the league is scared after those injuries. you mess around and bron blows his achilles out or gets a bad knee injury. that mileage is real. so you gotta go and go now . especially since GSW is not right just yet come next season. So strike while the irons hot so to speak. the west is wide open. just like the east was this past season without bron being in the way. You make that run. sorry to see the young bruhs go. and I'll keep watching them on other teams. But it is what it is. Dis Hollywood baby. We dont wait. and we dont do it slowly. we win NOW. and keep winning until the the wheels fall off. suck for 10 years. and repeat. we aint built like these other franchises that build strictly thru the draft and keep losing to keep getting picks to one day get lucky enough to get a bron and to finally win like ONCE. no thanks. we're going for it. Thats something a lot of non winning ffranchise fans do not understand. They have never seen their teams win or win much so they have no real clue how it works. I notice the same issues with talking heads on TV and the radio that are transplants from other cities that were also fans of other teams in other cities. They base their arguments on what they think is the best way to build teams when they have never seen their favorite team do it.

I like how people are trying to downplay Davis now that he's on the Lakers. Dude averages 30/13 in the playoffs and some of you are trying to act like he's overrated. :dead:

people talk about Bron ball and how he is :flabbynsick: and how AD isnt a winner. but I see these two as the perfect fit basketball and personality wise. Bron is still going to be the leader even though he may not be the best player moving forward. AD doesnt want to be the leader or the guy to have to carry a team alone. with their skills and mindsets, they will make it work between the two of them. the issue is...who will be the supporting cast? there are question marks about all of the top free agent in regards to signing with the Lakers. most of it revolving around salary and how much guys are willing to accept.

My homie said this jokingly but if I was high on the Lakers players like him I’d probably agree
i'm a lakers fan who was high on the laker kids. But #1 ball has to prove he can play 70+ games. thats the #1 reason we were willing to let him go. it wasnt the offense. I hope the guy isnt injury prone because i think he has some crazy talent. and he is a winner, that part lavar was always right about. its something about dude that makes the rest of his teammates step up. But dont be silly. assuming both teams have great health. Bron and AD alone would destroy our kids that are now on the pels. They are that good. Lebron had a crazy stat line last year and had his first big injury ever. so thats on an off year. what do you think AD is looking like? just averaging like 30 and 12 in the playoffs when they made it. thats all.
thats insane people .wake up.

Stars get calls that the kids have to earn over the years of playing. that alone is worth it.

I promise you I’m not as high on AD, BI or Zo as most basketball people. AD a superstar but has literally on won over 40 twice. BI is good but not great at anything and can’t shoot. Ball probably one of the best perimeter defenders in the league but can’t shoot or finish at the rim. I don’t think the Lakers should have gave them picks up and got the best haul that could but it’s not spectacular. It’s better then any other star
Getting traded aside from the pacers probably. If those young guys improve this could be a disaster though. I also love them keeping Kuz. He should be able to carry the bench scoring.
