Going through with a trade makes no sense for Boston unless both Kyrie & AD agree to longterm extensions beforehand. Any other scenario is begging to get finessed.

I just don't see how Boston can make a better offer than what Magic proposed. If it's this summer, Boston would have to offer something like Tatum, Brown and Smart plus those protected picks. They definitely aren't taking Hill or another bad contract back.

Price of the brick goes down in the summer. I think the only way you take the Celtics deal is if you feel Tatum is a star and you have faith in your ability to draft. It feels like the Pels don't believe that BI or Kuzma are future stars, and I don't blame them.

My guess is that they probably want to gamble on Hayward's recovery since he's locked on a long contract and he's still young, while securing Tatum and the Grizzlies pick, plus maybe the Kings pick and Rozier, I don't know.

Rozier, Jrue, Hayward, Tatum, Okafor(?) while having a potential top 3 pick in 2021 and picking twice this year is already a better plan than absorbing the Lakers core and their trash. NO can't afford having a potential 30 win team.
