I'm not denying that, just telling you it is possible to sign AD in 2020 if they wanted to.

AND FROM THE START I SAID ITS IMPOSSIBLE
BECAUSE THEYRE ABOUT TO USE THAT CAP SPACE THIS SUMMER
SO THERE WAS NO REASON TO QUOTE ME.

The Pels didnt accomplish anything during AD's run except beating Portland. You say the team is going to be in the dumps after that trade? They been garbage. Horrible team given its talent. NOTHING acquired for AD at this point is trash, I dont care who offers it. His days in N.O. are over and somebody needs to get that through their head and stop talking about waiting til the summer to get Jason Tatum. :dead: N.O. has no leverage over LAL, Boston, Toronto, or anybody. We are not talking about a playoff team here. At a point they are going to start overvaluing AD's asset value. It comes down to if you want players or picks. I think Demps would rather have the former. However if the Pels want picks they may as well shut talks down and wait til July 1st.

I was one of those who thought the PG13 trade would be good for the Pacers, in Oladipo, I said you have a guy that will give you a guaranteed 18ppg and if Sabonis developed that would be a bonus. Look how that worked out after people were slamming Pritchard for that shyt. If you can get two good players and some picks that is the best you can hope for. N.O. trying to get Ingram and Kuz or Tatum and Brown, PLUS other assets is probably asking too much. Buddy Hield is the guy the Kings always wanted and it has worked out for them even thought people thought that trade was trash.....and then Vlade said that 2 days prior to that Boogie trade he had a better deal on the table.

:comeon: You said cap space can't be made without trading Bron or the 2nd max player they sign, but that's wrong.

Whether you want to argue that they're going to sign multiple guys to long term deals next year is another argument, but they can sign Kyrie in 2019 and then surround them with other 1 year deals again, then let all those expire, decline all the team options and get another max in 2020.

Ingram will be restricted free agent with a high cap hold and Kuzma will be a restricted also Hart will be restricted, you will have to lose them for nothing.

Edit I’m wrong it will be just Ingram that you have to renounce rights to

:dahell: If you can sign Kyrie and AD, why tf would you care about decline options on all them dudes? Or trade em for picks.

But yes its all hypothetical because the reality is AD won't hit 2020 free agency and prob half or all those young guys won't be Lakers by 2020, but the FACT is if the Lakers HAD TO, there is a scenario where they can wait for 2020 to get AD.

BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO PICK UP
OR DECLINE THEIR OPTIONS BEFORE THE 2019-20 SEASON BEGINS...

NO TEAM IS GONNA DECLINE THOSE OPTIONS
WITH A WHOLE SEASON TO PLAY OUT.

AD COULD BREAK HIS LEG,
GET TRADED TO A NEW TEAM BE LIKES
OR JUST CHANGE HIS MIND.

If it gets to that point, AD will probably hve been traded elsewhere already and the Lakers FO will have been given intel he's coming. At that point, they would just ride it out IMO.

Any trade they make has to include Ingram and Kuzma...at the minimum. I get why the Lakers want to keep one of them though. 3 max contract and young player with potentially high ceiling to start a dysnasty.
