why would the NBA allow AD to go to teams already primed to make a run without him and allow the Lakers to literally implode?
DLO woulda never been shyt with Lakers development staff and the way their offense runs, but in a hypothetical, what him and Zo lack, the other makes up for IMO. It also gives them a consistent threat at the 2 position, something they still dont have ~50 games into the season.

Magic is definitely on pace to be one of the worst scouters/decision makers of talent in my time of living, imagine if they keep Brook (no reason not to) and Randle. Lets say you butter Randle up to come back on a slightly less contract than he'd get anywhere else. That gives you those two instead of Beasley and Chandler, I'd guess. Julius's value there would allow you take off at least Zubac and a pick probably. If not more. I know they wanted to clear long term space, but it was very evident to everyone, even Magic, they were gonna need as many young assets as possible to flip this season
