Also for others posting lawsuits and settlements, that's not something Obama "gives". The government has been sued. That's like saying that guy who fell in the nyc sidewalk full of rats is going to be "given" a check. No he's going to hire a lawyer to go demand a bag for him.
Not sure what semantics games you're trying to play here, but the Pickford Settlement was closed in 1999 with $1 billion from the Clinton Administration. In 2008 Senator Obama (before he became president) was the lead sponsor of the measure to re-open the Pickford Settlement and add additional funding. With his help Congress finally passed the measure in 2010 and he signed it as president. Otherwise it would never have happened. The Trump Administration has refused to even meet with John Boyd Jr.

Obama really did get that check cut when legally the obligation was done.

In the legal world the case was closed. It was Obama's work, first as senator and then as president, that re-opened the case and added an additional $1.25 billion to the original settlement. Of course, others like John Boyd Jr. did MUCH more work, but so far as politicians go Obama was the #1 man responsible for making it happen.

that's good info and leads into my second lesson of the day in the thread. it's short and simple (quite remedial actually)
the congress holds the power of the purse strings.
all this "trump funded hbcu" blah blah is not accurate. he signed off on a bill that he would not be able to veto otherwise lol

as far as the indian settlement. that was basically a contract dispute. indians own lands under treaty that the government "holds" in trust. they lease it out, for timber, oil, etc. part of the lease money is supposed to be paid out back to the indians. they didn't pay it all out to the indians so the indians sued. the end
it wasnt "given" as a "reparation"

Obama help give tangibles to Black people, when he gave $492 Million to the Native Americans

U.S. to pay 17 Indian tribes $492 million to settle long-standing disputes

The Obama administration has settled lawsuits with 17 Native American tribes that accused the federal government of long mismanaging their funds and natural resources.

With these settlements, the administration will have resolved the majority of outstanding claims, some dating back a century, with more than 100 tribes and totaling more than $3.3 billion, according to the Justice and Interior departments.

Obama help give tangibles to Black people, when he sung Amazing Grace at the funeral of the Black people who were killed by the White Supremacist Dylann Roof:

I hate when you ungrateful nikkas talk about Obama and how he did not do anything for Black people.

I did have insurance through the Affordable Care act at one time. I forgot exactly what I was paying at the time something like $90 dollars every payment, but they wanted to jack that up to over $200 dollars and I had to drop them. I don't get where folks are saying it helps everybody, because it doesn't if we're going to be real about it. They forced everybody to get insurance and then the price went up.

there's a whole macro level economic explanation for the burden that disease and bad health places on whole societies. its a whole bigger picture which is what federal governments are supposed to consider.

unfortunately, you may be out some hundred dollars but the theory is your better off.

That was started under Bush, Obama just signed off on it kind of like Trump signing off on the HBCU funding. Also that $12million was actually $92 dollars and some hearing aids since there was 100k survivors still living. :coffee:

What about the 99.9% of us that are not farmers:jbhmm:

That doesn't answer his question. Which is simply, "yes that's a tangible".

Now to your point, "where's the rest"?

Most presidents do HBCU funding, and trump lead the way on reform....but that's far from being enough.

Being on your parents insurance until 25 was allowed when bush was president, Obama didn't enact that

At that time, you had to be going to school to be on your parents' insurance. Otherwise, you were on your own.
