Dog what are you talking about? People killed the Lions when Megatron retired not him.According to who? This is a 29 year old who said he’s tired of rehab so he’s quitting football. He didn’t mention CTE or head trauma.
This isn’t about the media per sè; people’s opinions in general would be different. If Boogie Cousins retired today it would be a thread full of people saying that’s what he gets for chasing a ring, being a team cancer, he’s always been selfish, he was fat, blah blah blah. The energy is NEVER the same. There damn sure wasn’t this type of reaction for Calvin Johnson. But I guess he didn’t play through any injuries like Luck
I have no feelings towards Andrew Luck as a player or person; he didn’t move the needle for me one way or the other. He seems like a nice enough guy, which is why people are crying for him this morning. Amongst other reasons
Patrick Willis was also not nearly as high profile of a player as Andrew Luck.

They’re partially responsible for the injuries he sustained during his career. Irsay even tried to say the injuries were in Lucks head when in reality they failed to put a competent OL in front of him.
I’m sure they would try to get it back from any other player, but since when has Luck been “any other player”?

Seeing Indy fans booing him as he walked off the field for the last time was distasteful. It honestly made Luck's decision easier.
Yeah I'm sure it's annoying that they wasted they're money on season tickets before knowing what Luck was gonna do but still....
He put his body on the line for them cacs for 7 years, kept the franchise afloat with Peyton retired only to get shytted on and was seen as nothing more than a circus act.
I put football in the same class as boxing. Its a sport that you don't wanna stick around a long time in due to the physical/mental abuse you receive.
You may have love for the game but the game don't love you back. Yeah you get your millions in return but you also shorten your ability to live a healthy life and end up having CTE.

Antonio brown is not comparable imo. Threatening to retire because the league is making you wear a safer helmet is nowhere near retiring cause your body broke down.My post history shows I couldn’t care less about the NFL. I just want the energy and approach to be the same across the board. Antonio Brown threatened to retire due to his helmet, which is stupid to me, but clearly his emotional and mental health are tied to it. He didn’t receive this same sympathy
