That's definitely in the back of their mind, Irsay already hinted at hoping he'd have a change of heart down the line. Taking care of him on his way out certainly helps. That’s because their hoping he comes back next year

Brrr what happen to that boy
Brady has not had a consistent running option in the backfield. The only elite back he ever had was Corey Dillon. The Pats have usually had a good and sometimes great running o line that makes average backs look good but the short throws are basically the running game.Plus Brady has had a consistent option in the backfield for his entire career for dump passes and a long history of great OL's including some HOF and fringe HoF guys blocking for him.
Luck had what, T-Rich and some washed up dudes from when Peyton was there.
Yea people are downplaying the fact he has lived in constant pain for 4 straight years. Everyone has their breaking point.

How is anyone apologizing for Brady? People should just stop bringing him up. As for Brady vs. Luck, Tom was a better player and Andy was a better athlete. Andy never had a good enough o line or the right offense to be healthy. When the Patriots knew their o line was mediocre the entire offense was basically throwing the ball quick as shyt. We all saw what happened when the Broncos took that away and he had the hold the ball in that AFC championship game.Tom Brady apologists will ruin any thread if you let them.
Under NFL rules, the Colts could force Andrew Luckto pay them millions of dollars for abruptly retiring. But they won’t do that.
The Colts and Luck have already reached an agreement that the team will not go after any of that money, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
NFL players who receive a signing bonus and then choose to retire while still under contract can be forced to pay back a prorated portion of that signing bonus. In Luck’s case, that prorated portion of his signing bonus is $12.8 million. Luck’s contract also called for him to receive a $12 million roster bonus this year, and players can also be required to pay back roster bonuses if they retire after receiving the bonus but before playing.
Some star players who retired while under contract, including Barry Sanders and Calvin Johnson, have been forced to pay back their money. The Colts have chosen not to.
Why not? It could be that Luck and Colts owner Jim Irsay reached an agreement not to make it messy, because Luck did have leverage: If he had wanted to, he could have simply told the team’s medical staff that he wanted to play but the leg injury that has kept him out of the preseason was too painful for him to play on, and that he needed to go on injured reserve, which would have allowed him to collect his full salary this year without playing. Luck did the honorable thing, and so the Colts aren’t going to fight him.
You are by pretending the patriots don't consistently have a good backfield because they don't sign RBs to big deals. How is anyone apologizing for Brady? People should just stop bringing him up.
