Its background music for an Ewok weed cypher, but I don't mean that in a bad way. The songs are long but they don't feel long, they're light and calming.

In interviews he makes a lot of excuses about why he doesn't want to drop a solo or OutKast album though. Nothing really rings true, and I don't know what to make of it. Whatever direction he decides to take its not going to suck, but he picked something with the smallest frame of reference to Hip Hop possible, and thats obviously by design.

I still hope he or OutKast decide to drop a real album at some point. Something with vocals and a bass guitar.

it's ironic that a drake stan says ambient music isn't music considering that one of 40's biggest influences is ambient music. that influence is what sets his beats apart from others. marvins room is 100% ambient music.
The “under water” drum pattern :ohhh:

The problem is that he’s not that invested in rap anymore or shall I say at the moment. I would not want him to do a hip-hop solo album if he’s not 100 percent fully invested in the process. For me, it’s pretty straightforward that he doesn’t have that hunger to do rap right now. I feel that this album is possibly a way to get him back to that point.

That would feel less hollow if he wasn’t doing guest features over the years.

:manny:
After all the gems him and big boi have given us over the years he’s more than earned the right to be out the way, healthy, happy, and doing whatever the fukk he wants.

There’s no narrative, no magical ending, no one owes us anything because we may or may not have been fans.

He dropped a recording of his current hobby/occupation, the sun came up, people listened to it, people ignored it, some people enjoyed it, some people furiously typed angry accusations and declarations to help themselves feel in control, the sun went down

…It just is what it is. He felt like doing guest verses, maybe he’ll do them sometime in the future. It doesn’t really matter, he could have recorded himself drinking the leftover water after he made the cheap red hotdogs, and it wouldn’t have mattered. We can be happy that he’s in a good place or we can choose to cry into the vastness of cyberspace as if anybody cared. The world will move on regardless.

I admit I am curious why he did so many guest features. My guess is that it was a little bit easier for him than doing a full solo rap album to whereas it would take more of a mental toll on him considering the fact that he’s not really wanting to fully commit to it.
