Listening with the sub in my truck. How does drumless ambient music have so much bass

After a few playthroughs i’m fukking with this.


This is a GREAT album to listen to when i’m writing scripts or doing research.


My favorite track is the Ghandi, Dalai Lama song. Dre did his THING on that one. Reminds me of Pharaoh Sanders work.


He’s for SURE going to be nominated for Best Contemporary Instrumental Album at next year’s Grammys

I ain’t listen to it but I rate him for him doing what he feels and not being enslaved by a label or what fans think he should put out.

Only time you tell a painter what to paint is if you hired them.










Then again we allow modern day artist to paint from the same brush same canvas and give us the same painting and we eat it up

My honest opinion,

I'm legit wondering if this is a troll album. I normally wouldn't seek out this kind of music and only listened because it's 3 stacks. I went in and didn't know what to expect. First 3 tracks were a chore to listen to. Once i realized the whole album was gonna be like this, i just let it play through in my headphones while working. It's not that bad as background sound when you doing stuff where you gotta focus.

I probably won't be listening to this outside of work. I probably would have said this is bs if it was someone else. Hell im not even sure if i like it. Also, i might look for other albums/playlists similar to this for work. I hesitate to call this music. Seems like "sound with musical ideas sprinkled in" which i guess can serve it's purpose.

Ironically the flute stuff might be the worst part of this album.

There's some nice ambient and electronic textures, keys and subtle percussion....but the flute playing is whatever.

It ain't terrible music though....if you like this but haven't delved too deep into ambient music, some of my favorite ambient albums from this year:

Laurel Halo - Atlas (might be my overall AOTY - incredible music)
Purelink - Signs
Lucy Liyou - Dog Dreams
Ryuichi Sakamoto – 12
Tim Hecker - No Highs

Peeped Atlas off the strength of your post, and this is one of my favorite albums from this year.

I don’t get the “troll” narrative at all. When has Andre 3000 EVER been a troll type of artist. This is the man who made Hey Ya a multi week number 1 smash hit and then stopped performing it because he was bored with it. Dude has always done and not done what he feels. He’s not going on an entire promotional run for this album just to troll.
