So Andre is about to get slammed by rap fans and jazz fans at the same time...
Rap people saying "how come this isn't a rap album." Jazz people saying "how come he's not collaborating with actual musicians to make a flute piece." My reaction as a big rap and jazz fan? Who cares man. Dude just wants to make art expressing himself in the way that makes him the most happy, which is wind instruments. Does that mean he has to Take This Serious by having musicians and jazz minds involved? Hell no. Does this mean he's exploiting the rebirth of jazz and the lucrative market for records like this? Hell no. I'm not even sure Andre even knows what Brainfeeder is. Dude is out here traveling the world playing his flute, enjoying life. Has he probably run into musicians and artists who could have helped him form a band or create a record? Sure but uhhh....he didn't do that, nor is he obligated to.
I'm gonna listen. Maybe it'll be interesting, maybe not. But just because Andre is famous and a rapper and has access to xyz music resource doesn't mean he has to do anything. If I want to become a painter, I don't have to take classes. I can just paint. You can just paint. And Andre can just...play his flute.
