I get what he's saying, it was art then, it's business now. In the world of music, if you're already an successful artist that believes you're the best and have the accolades to back it up, then there's nothing left to prove. In hip hop, there's always something to prove when it's all about public perception and validation. It's why someone who could rap like Cole would back out of a rap battle but someone like Drake engages it. They both lost at the end of the day but atleast Cole could say he been honest with himself.
