3000 has never stopped rapping though, there is something else involved with why he's on this particular hiatus.
Yeah it's called fear of failure. It would be insanely difficult to make either a solo album or a new OutKast album because critics would rip it to shreds and it would never live up to the hype of people's imaginations.

It's funny 3000 felt like he was already too old for rap during ATLiens and he was only in his early 20s.

I can imagine he's done done with OutKast approaching 50

Flute album was not only trying something different, but a middle finger to those who were asking for an OutKast reunion

bun tried it with krit... than xvii got on both of their asses when krit was given a song ...xvii made n bun knew.. and he still went along with it ...

that's why bun playing it safe with statik selectah ...low key he is doing it without doing it .. following the run the jewels formula...find em a peckerwood and release

Bun was better off working with ALC.. imo.

Krit may be the last remnant of Pimp. I don’t blame him though.

The UGK well is dry now and Bun lost his step without Pimp

Dre got a taste of that Badu…

Maybe Dre didn’t wanna sell his soul or take that oath or try the Egg test.

Thank god that Dre didn’t sell out his beliefs and let those labels pimp him.

It’s good that Big Boi went solo…

Now he doesn’t have to be in Dre’s shadow so much.

The industry has pitted many groups against each other due to egos.

The day that Dre and Big publicly beef will be sadder than the day that Havoc dissed Prodigy on twitter.
dre 3ks music is more accessible to whites so they want to push him

its why big boi has had to fight so hard

thankfully people finally realized he actually is talented around the time of sir lucious. love big boi

Bun n krit could have work but that was some shiesty as shyt .. krit could have came up with something on the fly that woulda jammed

Its a reason why bun was quik to trademark the word trill didn’t wait til the dirt settle on pimps grave

If it ain’t the bird seeds and it has to go threw bun if u wanna use the word

:why:
They’ve both been recognized as some of the most talented rap artists since southernplayalistic. Now Dre is accessible to cac’s because he rap good, and is good at articulating things in an unguarded way, and didn’t waste his career pretending to be a criminal mastermind?

Are Nas, face, Jay, black thought, Ghostface, dot all cac artists? All this making up shyt to feel better about, not getting what you want is wild emotional.

:why:
Antwan Patton never had to fight to have his artistry respected. They’ve both been revered since their debut. They spent decades being celebrated from school hallways, to parties, to corners, to university campuses. If these grown men don’t feel like entertaining you then they don’t have to. Their body of work, as a duo, has done more than enough to cement their legacies.

He was never top 5. He is an amazing lyricist and part of one of the best hip hop duos of all time but to try and isolate his work in that duo and compare it to artist that some of who have also been in groups or duos but have also released solo work is bullshyt. Plenty of amazing lyricist tried and failed to put together great solo albums.

Even his groupmate can be ranked because Big Boi has both his OutKast work, Big Grams, and his solo work. He has enough of a body of work to be ranked. 3000 isn't a solo artist he's just a part of OutKast so why should he be ranked outside of that?

:manny:
The criteria your using is all made up breh. None of that shyt is tangible and barely measurable. Outside of here and other boards, nobody cares. He wrote and spit his own verses. Big wrote and spit his own verses. They are as dope together as they are as individuals. I’m always going to roast the eventual boohoo’ing, the:

“fukk HiM! ThAt’S why BiG bOi WaS bEtTeR… I WiSh BiG bOi WaS My DaD…”
kick-rocks.gif

And whatever salty bullshyt nikkas feel they need to say to try and diminish either of their work, to make themselves feel better.

The nikka is celebrated as a top artist, you got weird ass nighas still trying to argue that Fabulous, Big L, and Stack Bundles were on some top artist shyt…. Dre has just a much of a right to be honored that way, due to the words HE put together. Solo albums don't matter. We don’t celebrate Black Thought because of his modern solo’s, we celebrate the timeless classic verses he spit with the BAND he belongs to, the Roots.

It's the Pippen Problem... Nobody brings Pippen up on any GOAT list because he played with Jordan. If he had the exact same career, but on the Wizards, and 0 rings, he'd be still be respected more than he is right now

Big Boi is amazing.. But standing next to Dre, every time you getting outshined and it makes you look worse than you are... That's why Havoc had to start stepping those bars up

Hav always had bars, even when P was in his prime. Just like Big Boi with Dre.
