And you didn't just do that by saying that Blatt was "dumb" for not resting LeBron earlier in the game?Alot of hypothetical situations you just set forth.
The Cavs won two games in a row because LeBron controlled the pace and kept controlling it from the tip to the end of the game - with very little break in between - a pace advantage that kept the Warriors at bay. Why stray away from a winning formula? Why rest LeBron in the 2nd quarter when they were down by double digits, knowing full well that he was the only reason they had a shot at cutting down the margin? Why rest him at that point when he was their only hope of taking back the lead? Why rest him at that point when whatever 4th quarter hope they may have would cease to exist, because the Warriors would've increased the lead while he was out?
You don't think folks would be callin him "dumb" for taking him out in the 2nd quarter and resting him when the Warriors had a double digit lead?
We'll have to wait and see. However, there was no cause for Blatt to extend that rotation going into Game 4 when it had worked for the previous two games. I don't know how the hell you can criticize Blatt's approach on how rested LeBron, when he took the same course of action that did he in the previous two games - the games that the Cavs won.But fukk it the 3 day rest I hope does the trick.
That 7 man rotation won't change. I recognize it's just noise by the media.
Fair enough, if you think that others need to be brought into the rotation to give LeBron a breather - but don't go calling Blatt "dumb" because he stuck to the gameplan that had them up 2-1.
Not true at all.If Miller and/or Matrix could play even 5 mins competently then they would have by now.
2-3 more games gotta gut it out.
Kyrie played in Game 1 to help LeBron carry the load (no need for Miller/Marion) - Blatt goes into Game 2 with a seven-man rotation and the Cavs win. Why give Miller/Marion minutes in Game 3 when Blatt won with a seven-man rotation in Game 2? Blatt goes into Game 3 with a seven-man rotation and the Cavs win again. Why give Miller/Marion minutes in Game 4? Why break up a winning pattern/plan that the Warriors had yet to figure out?
Now that the Warriors have made adjustments, it's up to Blatt to do the same. He has to weigh up whether or not playing Marion/Miller or anybody else for that matter will be beneficial to the Cavs' chances.
