Has the most recent installment of the Mummy been listed yet? Would it be considered as an ancient Egypt movie?
It's not black peoples' fault that an ancient Egyptian movie hasn't been made. "Epic" movies like the OP suggested cost a lot of money and movie studios aren't gonna take a chance on a black cast when a movie costs that much. If there ever is another ancient Egyptian movie, it's unfortunately gonna be whitewashed. Even if black people would come out to specifically support a black Egyptian movie, the audience still probably isn't big enough for a studio to consider it.

But, imagine Greek mythology set in present times: regular looking people named Zeus, Poseidon, battling just like those old Homer tales. The only difference there will be be cars instead of chariots
