african americans' aren't from egypt by the time africans were being taken for slaves to north america egypt was already a muslim caliphate for like 600 years. Before that it was ruled by byzantines and before that greeks and egyptians etc.. There is never a period in history where west or central africans rule egypt and the people who were taken from west and central african tribes to be sent as slaves weren't from egypt. The peopel in east africa aren't he same as the people from the west the same as a person from wales isn't the same as a person from moscow even though they may look vaugly similar(even though they really don't if you have eyes). The fantasy is that the tribal people who were taken as slaves from west and central/south africa were pharoahs and somehow ruled all over africa including egypt 4000 years ago. That is obviously false and we know those tribes didn't start migrating anywhere outside of their native land until like the 6-10 century. The main reason for this i think is that people feel that the west african culture is in some way inferior to a culture who stacks massive rocks with slave labor. They forget which one still exists.

Sorry but um. do you have a problem with anglo saxons and germanics depicting themselves as spartans? at the time of ancient greece, britons and germanics were living in huts and couldnt even read and write, yet they play the part with no problems. they were known as barbarians, savages and uncivilized to the greeks. (note: there are no scandanavian, briton, or germanic ancient civilizations)

btw. west africans didn't move into west/central africa auntil 1AD, in other words, we didn't even exist and resided in nubia back when egypt started, so yes, we were those pharaohs at one time or another because kush took over egypt from the horners for over 400 yrs (longer than america has been a nation) I would say that is A LOT closer to the truth than some europeans playing ancient egypt. That is why will smith can play a nubian pharoah who conqoured egypt and claimed it was 'returning home'. . you do realize that the egyptians learned how to make pyramids from nubia, the oldest protocals come from south sudan, and guess who reside there? nubians/kushytes. have you seen a south sudanese? google it for a second because other than having smaller noses and facial features, they're actually DARKER than african americans (who have admixtures)

come to think of it, african americans playing egypt would be accurate since egyptians were nothing more than blacks with admixtures from invaders. ring a bell?

Black film makers need to start exploring animation. I've seen some pretty dope animated batman films that I prefer to the live action ones. I'm tired of black films not being made because massa won't give us money. Animation is cheaper and we could get great black actors to do the voices.
