Growing up I used to go to a church (GA) that hada huge painting of a white Jesus right above where the pastor preached. I asked my dad why that was considering the whole congregation was black folks. He told me back in the old days in the south that's what they were brought up to believe so for bible thumping old folks like my grandmother, if we put up a black Jesus painting all the old heads would be like "OH HELL NAW! Just the way it is
We did .... 300Sidbebar, I'm surprise we haven't got a epic Greek Mythology flick yet
whats stopping us from making a hollywood movie about ancient egypt or ancient african kingdoms or even haiti? white people aren't obliged to make these movies you know.
so basically we can't even afford to make our movies or tell our own stories. what does that say about us? instead we're sitting down waiting for our enemy to do that for us.The $100 million for production, and the other $100 million for advertising?

Tyler Perry could afford it, but nobody is trying to see the Egyptian women argue about whether or not the Pharaohs are good men and husbands, or if the Romans could possibly be better.
